INTERWEAVE – Erasmus Mundus

Brief overview

INTERWEAVE is an Erasmus Mundus Partnership (EMA2 strand 1) consortium funded by the European Commission, coordinated by École Centrale de Nantes and co-coordinated by University of Malaya. The consortium brings together universities from Europe and Asia, along with associated partner institutions, to promote interregional academic collaboration.

Originally developed under the Erasmus Mundus Action 2 framework, INTERWEAVE focuses on fostering structured cooperation between European and Asian higher education institutions (HEIs) through mobility and academic exchange. The program has provided more than 170 scholarships supporting undergraduate, master’s, doctoral, post-doctoral students, as well as academic and administrative staff, enabling mobility between the two regions.

Aligned with the broader evolution of the Erasmus Mundus Programme under Erasmus+, INTERWEAVE contributes to strengthening internationalization, capacity building, and knowledge exchange, while supporting the development of highly skilled human resources and addressing global and regional challenges through collaborative research and academic cooperation.
