Brief Overview

ACNET-EngTech is a collaborative network established in 2014 that connects engineering and technology universities from ASEAN countries and China. Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) is one of the participating ASEAN universities, contributing to efforts to strengthen academic cooperation and regional partnerships.

Through this network, ITS takes part in activities such as student and staff exchanges, joint research, and collaborative academic programs, supporting knowledge sharing and the advancement of engineering education, as well as the Smart Ocean Initiative.

• ITS joined ACNET-EngTech since its formation in 2014.

• BIT sent students to CommTECH, ITS Student participated in summer program in TJU

2017

• Nov 27 – 28, 2017: ITS became host of the 3rd ACNET-EngTech Presidential Forum
• Nov 21 – 29, 2017: CommTECH Integrated Initiative 2017

2018:

• April 15 – 23, 2018: 30 ITS Students participated in summer program hosted by DUT
• July 29 – Aug 18, 2018: BIT and TJU sent students participating in CommTECH Camp at ITS
• July 25 – 28, 2018: 4 ITS mangement and faculty members participate the China-ASEAN Symposium on Capacity Building and Research Collaboration in Guiyang
• Sep 1 – 31, 2018: 4 administrators of ITS participate in the Job Shadowing Felowship Program
• Sep – Dec, 2018: 3 faculty members participate in the Job Shadowing Felowship Program at Faculty of Marine, TJU

Scope

ACNET-EngTech includes activities such as student mobility, capacity building, and faculty exchange through programs like the China–ASEAN Scholar Program and the Talented Young Scientist Program. It also covers research collaboration and academic engagement through symposiums and forums in areas such as Artificial Intelligence and China–ASEAN Beidou development and its applications in marine sciences, supporting knowledge exchange and innovation in engineering and technology.

Potential Activities

Potential activities include participation in programs such as the ASEAN–China Scholar Program, international conferences like ICCEIB, and forums on education and talent development. Other activities involve collaborative initiatives like Smart Ocean programs in collaboration with Tianjin University, student competitions, summer schools, and short-term programs such as CommTECH.
