IMPAKT Erasmus Mundus Programme

Brief overview

Under the Erasmus Mundus Programme funded by the European Commission, the International Mobility Programme for Academic and Knowledge Transfer (IMPAKT) aims to strengthen academic cooperation between Europe and Asia through structured mobility and institutional partnerships. The programme facilitates exchanges of students (from undergraduate to doctoral levels), as well as academic and administrative staff, to enhance skills, share knowledge, and promote intercultural understanding.

IMPAKT provides competitive grants covering monthly allowances, travel, insurance, and tuition fees, supporting high-quality mobility experiences across partner universities. In its implementation, the programme involves a consortium of universities and enables the exchange of more than 200 participants across regions, while also offering interdisciplinary training opportunities in fields such as engineering, life sciences, and social sciences.

Aligned with the broader evolution of Erasmus Mundus under Erasmus+, IMPAKT contributes to the internationalization of higher education, capacity building, and the development of globally competent human resources, while fostering long-term collaboration and knowledge transfer between European and Asian institutions.
