The French–Indonesian Consortium in Engineering and Management (FICEM) is a collaborative initiative that connects 10 Indonesian universities with 9 French Grandes Écoles under the Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT). It was established to strengthen academic and research cooperation between Indonesia and France, particularly in engineering and management fields.
The consortium focuses on student mobility through Master’s programs, as well as research collaboration supported by exchanges of PhD students and lecturers. Overall, FICEM aims to build long-term partnerships and enhance academic, research, and industry links between the two countries.
The scope of FICEM includes student, PhD, and staff mobility, as well as joint research collaboration between Indonesian and French institutions. It also covers academic initiatives such as double-degree programs, joint supervision, and participation in conferences and international projects.
FICEM offers opportunities for students to pursue Master’s studies in France, as well as mobility programs for PhD students and academic staff. It also provides access to joint research projects, international collaboration, and participation in academic events such as workshops and conferences.
Since 2015, the Erasmus+ program has opened up outside Europe through the International Credit Mobility action. The objective of this action is to allow individual participants to develop their professional skills and deepen their intercultural knowledge. This component allows the implementation of study and internship mobility for students (from 2 to 12 months), mobility for teachers-researchers (teaching mission), and administrative staff (training mobility).
