ASEAN University Network/Southeast Asia Engineering Education Development Network

Brief overview

ASEAN University Network/Southeast Asia Engineering Education Development Network (AUN/SEED-Net) has been established to promote human resource development in engineering for sustainable socio-economic development of the ASEAN region. The network consists of 26 member institutions in ASEAN with assistance from 14 Japanese supporting universities. In 2013 ITS Surabaya joins as member institution, and ITS  also becomes host institution for Electrical and Electronics Engineering Field. (Department of Electrical Engineering).

  • Japanese Institutions: Hokkaido University, Keio University, Kyoto University, Kyushu University, National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, Shibaura Institute of Technology, Tokai University, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Toyohashi University of Technology, The University of Tokyo, Waseda University, Tohoku University, Nagoya University, Osaka University
  • ASEAN Institutions: Chulalongkorn Univ., KMITL, BUU, KU, TU, UGM, ITB, ITS, UI, Univ. of Malaya, USM, UTM, UPM, ITC, UTB, UBD, NUOL, UY, YTU, UP, DLSU, MSU-IIT, NUS, NTU, HUST, HCMUT.

Opportunities (Phase IV onwards)

  1. Collaborative Education Program (CEP). ITS is a member of CEP-SEEN (Collaborative Education Program for Sustainable Environmental Engineering Network), together with MJIIT Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and University of Tsukuba, establishing Master’s & PhD program (joint supervision) in the field of Environmental Engineering.
  2. Alumni Support Program (ASP): Alumni of AUN/SEED-Net programs can form an alumni group and apply for support (research, seminar, etc.)
  3. Regional Conference (RC): ITS regularly sends academic staff to attend RC.
  4. ASEAN Engineering Journal (AEJ): AEJ is now indexed in Scopus.
