Inbound Researcher Mobility (IRM)

Inbound Researcher Mobility (IRM) program at ITS is designed to strengthen global academic collaboration by inviting distinguished overseas professors to ITS. Through this initiative, ITS provides funding support for visiting scholars to engage in joint research activities, foster partnerships with Indonesian academics, and publish collaborative papers in reputable international journals.

Outcomes of the program:

  • MANDATORY
  1. Cooperation document in a form of Implementation Arrangement (IA)
  2. Joint publication manuscripts in reputable international journals indexed at least Scopus Q1/Q2 with status submitted/under review/accepted/published
  3. Activity and financial report
  • ADDITIONAL
  1. Guest lecture/workshop/joint supervision

Eligibilities

For Potential Partners
  1. Be affiliated with a credible overseas university.
  2. Hold an academic title of at least Doctor (PhD or equivalent).
  3. Have a Scopus h-index ≥10 for Science & Technology fields; ≥8 for Social Sciences & Humanities fields, or affiliated with Top 200 QS WUR by Subject universities.
  4. Experience as head of laboratory or editor of an international journal is preferable (but not mandatory).
  5. Have expertise related to the host department at ITS.
  6. Submit a proposed activity plan during the stay at ITS.
  7. Demonstrate good communication and academic writing skills in English.
  8. Comply with all applicable regulations in Indonesia.
  9. Submit a statement letter confirming participation as a visiting professor at ITS under the IRM program.
  10. Submit a recommendation letter from the home institution.

 

For Applicants (ITS Lecturer)
  • An active ITS lecturer.
  • For an applicant who has received ORM or IRM funding in the previous year but the output has not been published yet, the applicant cannot submit another registration this year.
  • Include a draft of the article in the registration process.
  • Expected to provide contingency funding (in-cash or in-kind).
  • Submit a registration once in one activity calendar year.
  • Obtain approval from the Department and Faculty.
  • Complete matters related to documents and immigration administration for prospective partners.

Funding Scheme

  1. Group A: Rp60.000.000 – for Canada, United States, United Kingdom
  2. Group B: Rp50.000.000 – for European countries
  3. Group C: Rp40.000.000 – for Asia (Non-ASEAN) countries, Australia
  4. Group D: Rp30.000.000 – for ASEAN countries

Funding can be used for:

  • Round flight ticket, Accommodation, Living expenses, Proofreading fee, and Visa

Funding Scheme

  • ASEAN countries: IDR 30 million
  • Non-ASEAN countries: IDR 40 million

The funding will be transferred to the Department funding allocation and can cover: 1) Airfare, 2) Visa application, 3) Accommodation, 4) Living allowance/ honorarium, 5) Administration matters, 6) Proofreading service

Notes:

Registration is based on first come first served basis and will be closed once the maximum quota has been reached.

Terms & Conditions

Partner

  • Must be from a foreign university.
  • Have a minimum academic position of Associate Professor.
  • Have a Scopus h-index ≥ 10 for the field of Science and Technology or a Scopus h-index ≥ 8 for the field of Social Humanities.
  • Have an expertise that is aligned with the applicant’s department.
  • Have a determined agenda while visiting ITS.
  • Able to communicate in English (oral and written).
  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations in Indonesia.
  • Must attach a letter of intent to become an Inbound Researcher at ITS.
  • Must attach a permission letter from the home institution to take part in the program.

Applicant (ITS Lecturer)

  • An active ITS lecturer.
  • For an applicant who has received ORM or IRM (formerly WCP-like) funding in the previous year but the output has not been published yet, the applicant cannot submit another registration this year.
  • Must include a draft of the article in the registration process.
  • Expected to provide contingency funding (in-cash or in-kind).
  • Must only submit a registration once in one activity calendar year.
  • Must obtain approval from the Department and Faculty.
  • Must complete matters related to documents and immigration administration for prospective partners.
