Continuing the success of 2012 to 2026 Community and Technological (CommTECH) Camp, ITS International Office is introducing a new innovative program, CommTECH Camp Insight 2027 We are happy to announce that we will hold CommTECH on-site again This program will be conducted on two streams. Furthermore, the upcoming CommTECH will be presented as a Project based Learning (PbL) program. Groups will be formed among participants as a platform to help solve real life problems faced by the community. With an increased engagement between participants, facilitators, and the community, a more impactful experience will be achieved. It becomes even more attractive because at the end of the program, all participants will have an opportunity to present their project and ideas which were developed during the course of the program in front of a wider audience.

More about CommTECH Camp:
CommTECH Camp is an opportunity for university students, academics, and professionals from all over the world to learn about community and global issues through a variety of insightful but fun activities. The program includes courses, visitation and discussion with government and non-government agencies, societal engagement, Indonesian language courses, learning traditional music and dances, visit to main tourist destinations, and for sure tasting delicious Indonesian food. The aim of this program is to facilitate an opportunity to better understand ITS’s expertise in technology implementation within the society while visiting, discovering, and experiencing Indonesia’s diverse heritage and culture. It will also open up an opportunity to exchange ideas and develop a mutual goal for the future of our community.
The theme of the program is “Solving Local Problems with Global Knowledge”. Our organizing committee has been working hard to make the program a truly memorable experience for all participants.
CommTECH Camp Insight offers 2 streams 2 different times
Stream 1 : Engineering Innovations ( 21 January – 1 Feb 2027)
CommTECH Camp: Innovations in Engineering offers a captivating exploration into ITS’s vast innovation in the engineering field, aims to educate and empower young individuals interested in our latest engineering research and products. Through a series of workshops, seminars, and hands-on activities, participants learn about the latest technologies, sustainable practices, and emerging trends in the engineering sector. The program also focuses on fostering leadership skills, encouraging innovation, and promoting a deeper understanding of engineering fields.
ITS will provide the certificate upon the completion of the Final Project and Final Presentation.
Stream 2: SDGs Innovations (25 March – 5 April 2027)
CommTECH Camp: SDGs Innovations is an immersive program designed for university students and academics who are eager to explore the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in action! This stream will focus on innovative implementations of SDGs at ITS and in Surabaya.
Participants will engage in dynamic courses, discussions with key entity representatives, and hands-on societal engagement. Participants will experience Indonesian culture and culinary delights while visiting iconic destinations. This program offers unique opportunity to exchange ideas, to collaborate on sustainable innovations, and to deepen your understanding to the role of technology in community development.

Only active lecturers, non-academic staffs & active bachelor, master & doctoral students from any background are eligible for this program.
The fees for this program is USD 1,600. The fees covers accommodation, local transportation, tuition fee, workshop materials, seminar kits, lunch, trips, airport pick up & drop off services, and vouchers. The fee excludes personal expenses, roundtrip flight ticket, visa, travel & health insurance. The participants also need to check the requirement for visa to enter Indonesia.
We offer full scholarship, 50% scholarship (pay only USD 800) & partial scholarship (pay only USD 1,000) for limited participants. Each university only have a chance to received 1 full, 50% and partial scholarship. Please kindly note that scholarship only for the fees. You need still cover the exclude fees such as flight ticket, visa fees, insurance and other personal expenses. Please register early to secure your participation in this program.
The registration will open until 11 December 2026 for stream 1 and 5 February 2027 for stream 2
