What is The Indonesian AID Scholarship?

Indonesian AID Scholarship is a grant program from Indonesian Government aims to support the achievement of SDGs targets, especially in the education sector. As a reflection of the spirit of the Asia-Africa Summit and South-South Cooperation, the Indonesian AID scholarship will develop skills and expertise of the future leader from Indonesia’s partners countries. It acts as a soft diplomacy to strengthen cooperation and friendship among partner countries through the development of human resources between countries.

The Indonesian AID Scholarship offers a scholarship program for associate degree, bachelor degree, professional education, and also master’s degree for government officials and/or individuals recommended to work in the Government sector under the grant policy regulations.

This scholarship offers an unforgettable educational experience in Indonesia through studying at a well-known university and polytechnic as well as living experience in a multicultural and multilingual country. By getting this scholarship, students will enhance their intellectual standing, develop their competencies, and open wider professional opportunities, a foundation for post-college success.

Eligible Country

The Indonesian AID Scholarship welcomes applicants from designated priority countries, underscoring Indonesia’s commitment to advancing international collaboration and mutual growth through educational exchange.

Based on Ministerial Decree of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs 2026, the scholarship is open to applicants from countries designated as grantee priority areas.

Africa

  1. North Africa: Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia
  2. West/Central Africa: Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Guinea, Nigeria, Senegal
  3. East Africa: Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Tanzania, Uganda
  4. Southern Africa: South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe

Asia

  1. Middle East/West Asia: Azerbaijan, Iraq, Iran, Palestine, Syria, Yemen
  2. Central/South Asia: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan
  3. Southeast Asia: Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vietnam

North & Central America (including Caribbean): Belize, Cuba, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Saint Lucia

South America: Bolivia, Colombia, Guyana, Suriname, Venezuela

Study Period

Maximum 8 semesters (4 years program)

Requirements

  1. Maximum age is 30 (thirty) years old as of 31 July 2025

  2. For unmarried scholarship candidates, they must be willing not to marry during the TIAS Program;

  3. A recommendation letter from their home government;

  4. A letter from the home government nominating and stating that the scholarship candidate will work in the government or public service sector in their home country;

  5. Must be a citizen of a priority country;

  6. Not registered as an active military member;

  7. Not currently undergoing or planning to undergo military service until the end of the study period;

  8. Preferably has at least 2 (two) years of work experience as a government employee in their country;

  9. Preferably has an active passport valid for at least 18 (eighteen) months from 31 July 2025;

  10. Attach a TOEFL ITP certificate with a minimum score of 477 or IELTS with a minimum score of 5.5 (a similar prediction test is acceptable) for students from countries where English is not the primary language;

  11. Attach a legalized high school diploma and transcript from a government-authorized institution in their home country;

  12. Must not already hold a bachelor’s degree;

  13. Preferably has a certificate of employment in the government sector or a work certificate from the relevant institution;

  14. Preferably attach a letter/document of good conduct and/or a criminal record clearance from the authorized local authority;

  15. Complete the online application form at https://tias.kemenkeu.go.id

  16. Attach physical and mental health test results after being declared accepted into the TIAS Program; and

  17. Willing to sign an agreement after being declared accepted into the TIAS Program.
