Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) invites PhD students to apply for the Erasmus Research Mobility Program at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB), Portugal.

Research Mobility

Research Internship Period: September 2026 – July 2027
Mobility Duration: 3 months
Activities: Research only (no coursework at IPB)

This opportunity is specifically intended for PhD students whose proposed research is directly aligned with their doctoral dissertation.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be an ITS PhD student (minimum 2nd year)
• Be currently enrolled at ITS
• Propose research directly related to their PhD dissertation
• Obtain recommendation/support from their ITS supervisor
• Work with an IPB PhD professor/researcher whose expertise matches the proposed research

Erasmus Grant

• €850/month × 3 months = €2,550
• Travel allowance: €1,735
• Total funding: €4,285

Notes

• IPB can assist students in finding accommodation.
• The monthly grant is expected to cover accommodation, meals, and basic living expenses.
• Erasmus funding covers a maximum of 3 months. Any approved extension must be self-funded.
• Students are responsible for arranging their own visa.
• Students should be prepared to cover certain expenses according to Erasmus reimbursement and payment procedures.

Applicants must prepare:

• Student CV
• Declaration of Enrollment as an ITS PhD student
• PhD Work Plan
• Identification of up to three potential IPB supervisors (research units/labs at IPB)
• Recommendation/support letter from the student’s ITS supervisor
• Academic Transcript

IPB will review the proposed research and identify suitable research units and supervisors.

• 4 September 2026 – Interview (upon invitation)
• Mid-September 2026 – Nomination to IPB
• October 2026 – Validation and processing at IPB
• After validation – Letter of Acceptance (LoA) issuance
