We are pleased to announce that the Student Exchange Program at the Faculty/Graduate School of Maritime Sciences, Kobe University is now open for applications for the Spring Semester 2026 (April–September 2026).
Tuition fees are waived for this program. However, accepted students will be responsible for:
Round-trip airfare
Visa and insurance fees
Accommodation and living costs
Learning materials and other personal expenses
Participants may choose courses only from the:

Important:
Most undergraduate (S1) courses are available only in Japanese.
Good Japanese proficiency is essential for S1 applicants.

For Undergraduate (S1) Students:
Batch 2023
Good Japanese proficiency (oral and written)
Must be from the Faculty of Marine Technology
Required to transfer 20 SKS upon return
For Master’s (S2) and Doctoral (S3) Students:
Completed at least one semester
Good proficiency in Japanese or English
Must take at least 6 SKS or engage in lab/research activities

Scholarship Form (choose JASSO or HUMAP – optional)
Parent’s Statement (in Bahasa, no specific format required)
Stating financial and mental support for participation
GCW Non-Degree Certificate (min grade C) or GCW Test Result (min score 80)
S2 applicants may submit R2SEP Certificate instead
Note: Incomplete or late applications will not be processed by the Mobility Team.
JASSO Scholarship
Monthly stipend: ¥80,000 (up to 11 months)
Selection is done in two stages: university quota allocation, then student review
