Ready to build the future of financial technology with AI?

The 2026 Shenzhen International FinTechathon International Track, hosted by Tsinghua University’s PBC School of Finance with WeBank, invites teams of 2–5 students to build an AI agent capable of completing real tasks in a financial scenario.

Under the theme “AI as a Financial Participant,” teams can choose from six topics, including personal finance, wealth advisory, cross-border and student finance, insurance, SME finance, and autonomous on-chain wallets.

  • Finalist Support: For invited finalist members, accommodation and round-trip international travel during the finals are arranged and covered by the organizer.
  • Additional Opportunity: Outstanding teams receive fast-track interview access to WeBank.

Topics

Participants can choose one of six topics:

  • Personal Finance Assistant – Smart budgeting, bill analysis, and spending insights
  • Wealth Advisory Agent – Product comparison, client risk profiling, and advisory dialogue
  • Cross-border & Student Finance Assistant – Remittances, tuition payments, credit building, and multi-currency management
  • Insurance Assistant – Policy Q&A, coverage-gap analysis, and claims guidance
  • SME Finance Copilot – Financing-option matching, cash-flow management, and business financial analysis
  • Autonomous On-chain Wallet Agent – AI wallet agent for asset management, transaction execution, and risk control

Finalists Announced: 20 November 2026
Check-in & WeBank HQ Visit, Shenzhen: 21–23 November 2026
Grand Final & Awards Ceremony: 21–23 November 2026

Submissions may be updated at any time before the deadline, with the latest version received prevailing.


Eligibility

The competition is open to full-time students, including undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students, currently enrolled at overseas universities and research institutions. Teams must consist of 2-5 students, and all team members must be from institutions outside Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, and Chinese Taipei.

At least 60% of a team’s members should be non-Chinese nationals, and each participant may join only one team across both the Domestic and International Tracks.
