Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU), Taiwan has opened applications for the Spring 2027 Semester Exchange Program (22 February 2027 – 25 June 2027). Tuition fees are fully waived for accepted exchange students.

Tuition Fee Waived

Students only need to cover:

• Accommodation and living expenses in Taiwan
• Medical and travel insurance
• Roundtrip flight ticket
• Visa and immigration-related expenses
• Personal expenses and daily necessities

Eligibility for ITS Students

• D4/S1: Batch 2024 students
• S2/S3: Must have completed at least one semester
• Academic Requirement: Minimum GPA of 2.50/4.00
• Language Requirement:
  • TOEFL iBT 64
  • IELTS 5.0
  • TOEIC 700
  • HSK Level 4
  • CEFR B1 equivalent or above
• Applicants from English-speaking countries are exempt from submitting an English proficiency certificate.

Program Timeline

• Semester Starts: 22 February 2027
• Semester Ends: 25 June 2027

Courses & Language of Instruction

• Courses are offered in both English and Chinese.
• Free Mandarin Chinese courses are available for exchange students.
• Course enrollment is subject to instructor approval after the semester begins.
• Students are not eligible to enroll in in-service Master’s programs or Dual Degree programs.

Minimum Credit Requirements

• Undergraduate: Minimum 6 credits, maximum 25 credits per semester
• Master’s & PhD: Minimum 3 credits, maximum 25 credits per semester

Accommodation

All exchange students will be accommodated at Re-Cheng Dormitory.

• Dormitory Fee: NT$ 16,500 per person per semester
• 4 students per room
• Internet included
• Kitchen and food-heating facilities available
• Students must purchase their own bedding and personal necessities

Estimated Living Costs

• Living expenses: Approximately NT$ 500 per day
• Cafeteria meal: NT$ 120–200 per meal
• Initial setup (bedding, toiletries, essentials): Approximately NT$ 10,000

Free Mandarin Chinese Program

• CYCU offers free Mandarin language courses for exchange students.
• Each Mandarin course is worth 2 academic credits.
• Courses cover reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills.
• Additional Mandarin Learning Center programs are available for students wishing to further improve their Chinese proficiency.

Health Insurance & Visa Information

• Students must purchase medical and travel insurance before arriving in Taiwan.
• One-semester exchange students are required to submit the Taiwan CDC Health Certificate for Short-Term Students.
• CYCU International Office can assist students with visitor visa extensions after arrival.
