SURABAYA, ITS News – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has reaffirmed its commitment to creating a global-oriented educational ecosystem through the Global Unity Fair (GUF) Spring 2026. Held on March 12, 2026, the event coincided with the holy month of Ramadan, creating a unique momentum for both cultural exchange and humanitarian action.

GUF Spring 2026 served as a platform for ITS international students to showcase the cultural richness of their home countries to local students. Various exhibition booths representing partner nations—including the Netherlands, Germany, Malaysia, Solomon Islands, Tanzania, India, Zimbabwe, and France—filled the venue, providing an inclusive cross-cultural educational experience. The event saw high enthusiasm, with more than 300 ITS students attending the festivities.

This initiative is a tangible representation of ITS’s contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education. Through this exchange platform, ITS aims to cultivate an international mindset among its students, aligning with the target of ensuring inclusive and equitable education for all.

Furthermore, the success of the event was anchored in SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. The organization of GUF is a result of strategic collaboration between ITS and various partner universities through semester exchange programs and other mobility initiatives. This synergy highlights the importance of international cooperation in achieving global sustainability goals.

Beyond the educational aspect, the spirit of sharing was deeply felt toward the conclusion of the event. In a concrete move to support SDG 2: Zero Hunger, all participants gathered for a communal Iftar (breaking of the fast). ITS provided free takjil and meals for all students, both local and international, as a preventive measure to address food security within the campus environment during the fasting month.

By integrating SDG values into its core activities, ITS continues to strive for a positive impact on the academic community and society at large. This initiative also serves as part of ITS’s strategic documentation to enhance its global sustainability rankings.
