KPU Canada Fall Semester 2026 Student Exchange with Canada-ASEAN SEED Program

Dear ITS Students,

Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU), Canada, is pleased to announce that applications for the Semester Exchange Program – Fall 2026 (September–December 2026) are now open.

ITS students participating in this exchange have the opportunity to apply for the Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED). Selected students must also comply with entry regulations set by the Government of Canada.

The SEED program aims to reduce poverty in developing ASEAN countries and contribute to achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.


Scholarship Information

Successful applicants may receive funding of up to CAD 10,200 for one semester. The scholarship can be used to cover expenses such as:

  • Visa fees

  • Airfare

  • Accommodation

  • Other related costs

Important:

  • Scholarship funds are typically disbursed around Week 5 of the academic semester, so students must prepare initial funds independently.

  • Please ensure you review current vaccination and quarantine regulations before travel.

Course Information

Notes:

  • Some courses may not be offered every semester.

  • Students are encouraged to check previous offerings (e.g., Fall 2024) as a reference.

  • You may explore courses outside your main program if relevant.


Eligibility

This program is open to ITS D4 & S1 students (Batch 2023 & 2024) who:

  • Take at least 4 courses

  • Transfer all credits into MBKM courses (compulsory or elective)

Programs

Required Documents

An additional review by the department is required due to seat limit in each course. Please submit the following documents with your nomination to facilitate the review:

  • Transcript(s): Transcripts MUST be in English or must have official translations.
  • Portfolio: MUST be in English
  • A List of Planned Courses: Please provide a list of 8 courses that your student plans to take during their exchange semester at KPU.

Computer Aided Design & Drafting (CADD/ CADA)

Diploma program. To be approved on a case-by-case basis. Due to the intensive schedule, exchange students accepted into the program are encouraged to take courses within this program during their exchange semester. Please submit the following documents with your nomination to facilitate the review:

  • Transcript(s): Transcripts MUST be in English or must have official translations.
  • Portfolio: MUST be in English
  • A List of Planned Courses: Please provide a list of 8 courses that your student plans to take during their exchange semester at KPU.

Entertainment Arts (ENTA)

An additional review by the department is required due to seat limit in each course. Please submit the following documents with your nomination to facilitate the review:

  • Transcript(s): Transcripts MUST be in English or must have official translations.
  • Portfolio: MUST be in English
  • A List of Planned Courses: Please provide a list of 8 courses that your student plans to take during their exchange semester at KPU.

Required Documents

Please prepare the following:

  1. CV

  2. Official Academic Transcript (English version) — Minimum GPA 3.25

  3. Valid English Proficiency Test Certificate (one of the following):

    • IELTS: min 6.5 (no band below 6.5)

    • CAEL: 75 (no subscore below 60) — within 2 years

    • PTE: 61 — within 2 years

    • TOEFL iBT: 88 (no subscore below 20) — within 2 years

    • Duolingo: 110 — within 2 years

  4. Certificate of Enrollment (state document purpose)

  5. Scanned Passport — Valid at least one year from 1 Sept 2026

  6. Recommendation Letter (max 1 page) from Academic Advisor/Head of Department on ITS letterhead explaining:

    • Nature of study/research

    • Benefits for student and ITS

    • Assessment of candidate’s commitment to addressing poverty and development gaps in ASEAN

  7. Letter of Intent (max 1 page, English or French) including:

    • Field of study description

    • Alignment with Sustainable Development Goals

    • SDG(s) contribution

    • Plan to apply learning to address poverty in home country

  8. Privacy Notice Statement (download from provided link)

  9. Statement Letter & Learning Agreement

  10. GCW Certificate

  • GCW Non-Degree / GCW IUP Basic / Advanced / GCA — Minimum grade C

  1. Portfolio (Design Department applicants only)


Application Submission

Submit your application via: ITS Study Abroad Form
Compile all documents into a single .zip/.rar file before submission.
Send a confirmation email to studyabroad@its.ac.id with the subject:
“Confirmation Study Abroad Application_KPU_NAME_NRP”
