National Taiwan University of Science & Technology (NTUST) has opened applications for the Spring 2026 semester exchange program (February 2026 – June 2026).

Tuition Fee Waived – Students only need to cover:

  • Learning materials
  • Accommodation & living expenses in Taiwan
  • Roundtrip flight ticket & travel insurance
  • Compliance with Taiwan Government regulations

Eligibility for ITS Students:

  • D4/S1: Batch 2023
  • S2/S3: Must have completed at least one semester

Courses & Language of Instruction

  • Most courses are in Chinese, but 160+ courses are available in English at the graduate level.
  • NEW: International Advanced Technology Program (IATP) is available in English at the undergraduate level. Learn more here.

Minimum Credit Requirements

  • Undergraduate: Min. 9 credits (must be transferred to ITS)
  • Master’s & PhD: Min. 1 course (can take courses across different departments)

📌 Credit Conversion:

  • 1 credit = 18 teaching hours
  • 1 course = 2 or 3 credits
  • 1 credit = 1.6 ~ 3 ECTS credits (varies by home university)

Accommodation in Taiwan

  • On-campus dorms: Limited, priority for full-time degree students.
  • Off-campus options: Rent ranges from NT$ 7,000 – NT$ 14,000/month (~USD $225 – $450), depending on location.
    • Popular areas: Da’an, Zhongzheng (closer to Taiwan Tech)
    • More affordable: Yonghe District (New Taipei City)

Free Mandarin Chinese Program

  • The Chinese Language Program (CLP) helps international students improve daily conversation skills.
  • More details will be provided upon arrival.

Estimated Living Costs (per month)

  • Accommodation: USD $200 – $500
  • Meals: USD $200 – $300
  • Transportation: USD $50
  • Phone/Internet: USD $20 – $30

  3. Academic Transcript (official, in English)
  4. Recommendation Letter (from academic advisor)
  5. Scanned Student ID
  6. Passport Copy (valid for at least 1 year)
  7. English Proficiency Certificate (TOEFL/IELTS/IBT) equal to  CEFR B2
    • Minimum TOEFL ITP 477 (EFL ITS)
    • TOEFL Prediction & UPT Bahasa screenshot NOT accepted
  8. Learning Agreement (Download here)
    • Signed by Head of Department only (leave other sections blank)
  9. Statement Letter (Download here)
  10. Health Insurance Certificate (valid for at least 6 months) [Can be submitted later]
  11. GCW Non-Degree Certificate (Min. C) or Test Score (Min. 80)
    • Not required for S2 applicants
