Pohang University of Science & Technology (POSTECH), South Korea, invites ITS students to join the Spring 2026 Exchange Program. This program offers a unique opportunity to study at one of Korea’s top science and technology universities while experiencing its culture and academic excellence.

Program Period: 16 Feb, 2026 – 5 June, 2026

Eligibility

S1 ITS students (Batch 2023)
S2 ITS students (Batch 2024)
Minimum GPA 3.0 out of 4.0
English Proficiency: TOEFL iBT 79 / IELTS Academic 6.0
A letter from the the Head of Department confirming English proficiency or TEFL with score equal to CEFR B2 may be accepted as a substitute.
Students must take and transfer the maximum allowable credits.

Course Registration

Exchange students register for courses via POVIS on a first-come, first-served basis.
Courses with prerequisites require professor approval and a Change of Course Registration Form submitted to the host department office.

Korean Language Course

A mandatory online Korean language course is provided through King Sejong Institute.
The course is free and must be completed before the semester starts.

Latest academic transcript (English, min. 3.0 GPA)
Certificate of Enrollment
Recommendation letter from a lecturer
Scanned passport (valid for at least 1 year from program start date)
Valid English Proficiency Test Score (TOEFL iBT 79, IELTS 6.0) or A letter from the the Head of Department confirming English proficiency or TEFL with score equal to CEFR B2 may be accepted as a substitute.

Motivation Letter (1-2 pages, including selected department/courses)
Recommendation Letter from a lecturer
GCW Non-Degree Certificate (min. C) or Result Test GCW Non-Degree min. 75 (S2 students can replace with R2SEP certificate)
Parents’ Support Letter (in English, signed, stating awareness and financial support)

Health Insurance Requirement

Students must purchase their own insurance covering illnesses & injuries for at least one month upon arrival.
Enrollment in Korean National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) is mandatory.
NHIS fee: approx. 70,000 KRW/month (billed by post).
