Kumoh National Institute of Technology (KIT), Korea, is pleased to announce that we are now accepting nominations for the Spring Semester 2026 Exchange Program. This program provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain international academic and cultural experiences. The tuition fee for this program is waived. However the accepted students are responsible for their learning materials, dorms, independent quarantine, visa fees and living expenses in Korea including Roundtrip Flight Ticket & Insurance.

Program Details:

  • Students are expected to enroll in 3-5 academic courses (totaling 9-15 credits), including a mandatory 3-credit Korean language class.
  • Exchange students can participate in industrial tours and cultural experiences to enhance their stay.

  • KIT offers English courses only for the faculty listed below. Please see attached available Fields of Study for Student Exchange Program. 1) School of Electronic Engineering; 2) School of Industrial Engineering; 3) Business Administration; Students outside these departments may still apply but may have limited access to major courses. They may still apply but may have limited to major courses. They may only be able to take select courses for credit transfer.

  • Open to undergraduate students from ITS.
  • Recommended for students from batch 2023
Visa requirements

Students need to obtain the D-2 Visa with the admission and invitation letter which will be issued by KIT.

Alien Registration

All students who stay in Korea for more than 90 days must apply for the alien registration card within 90 days of entry. It usually takes 3-4 weeks for the card to be issued.

Insurance requirements

We request Health Insurance for exchanges students during staying in Korea. Students can purchase health insurance from their home countries, or they can purchase it through International Office at KIT.

Health Check-up
  • All students have been requested to submit the health and medical clearance form with their online applications as part of the required documents.
  • According to government regulation, students from certain designated countries will need to get re-tested for tuberculosis at the district public health center in Korea upon arrival.

Meals and Food

Students can buy various types of meals on and off-campus, and also cook some instant snacks in the shared KITchen of the dormitory. Students usually use the KITchen to cook noodles, toast, and small snacks or to keep their own food in the communal refrigerator. Normal meal prices range from 6.000 won to 15,000 won (approx. US$ 5~12) per meal.

Opening a bank account

If students would like to open a bank account in Korea, they will need to bring a Alien card and a passport.

Application Process & Required Documents:

Applicants must submit the following documents in English or Korean:

  1. Application form and Self-introduction Essay
  2. Personal Information Collection and Usage Agreement
  3. Scanned Passport with validity minimum one year from August 2025
  4. Latest academic transcript in english version
  5. Scanned of ID Students
  6. Certificate of Enrollment in English
  7. English Proficiency Test Score. TOEFL/EFL (min 477) or you can use IELTS/IBT. You can use TOEFL Prediction. However, screenshoot from web UPT Bahasa is not acceptable.
  8. Statement Letter & Learning Agreement. You may give the approval communication from your Head of Dept for replacement of statement letter. Please download the file at http://bit.ly/its-student-exchange 
  9. Certificate of GCW Non Degree (minimum C) or Result Test GCW Non Degree min 80 (please kindly note that this documents is required for this program)
  10. Scanned of Parents letter support (the letter must signed by your parents and the letter must mention about the awareness of your parents about this program. Please also mention that your parents support you for the financial and other things if you are accepted in this program)

How to Apply for ITS Students:

  1. Submit your application through Study Abroad Application Form and compile all required documents into a single .zip/.rar file.
  2. After submission, send a confirmation email to studyabroad@its.ac.id with the subject: “Confirmation Study Abroad Application_KIT_NAME_NRP”.
  3. Submission Deadline: 8 October 2025 (09.00 WIB)
  4. Interview Date: 10 October 2025 (13.30 WIB)
