About the Programme

Virtual Summer School 4.0: Islam in Plural Society is a program that offers students and researchers around the world an in-depth exploration of Islam in Malaysia, covering its rich history, legal framework, economic landscape, social influences, and religious practices. The program was organized by Hadhari Islamic Institute, UKM and Chair of Excellence Sheikh Abdullah Fahim, UKM. In addition, it also cooperates with Pusat Pungutan Zakat MAIWP dan International Relations Centre (UKM GLOBAL).

Platform: Online, Via Zoom

Program Duration: 11th to 25th August 2025

Programme Objectives

This program will discuss Islam in the context of Malaysia from the aspects of history, law, economics, sociology, religion, and science & technology.
This program will provide students with a profound understanding of Muslim cultures and practices in Malaysia.

Local and international undergraduate and postgraduate students from diverse academic disciplines.
