Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) Semester Exchange Program Fall 2025

Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) is now accepting applications for the Fall Semester Exchange Program 2025 (October 2025 – February 2026).

Program Overview

• Tuition Fee: Waived for accepted exchange students.

• Student Responsibility: Students are responsible for their own learning materials, dormitory and living expenses, roundtrip flight tickets, visa fees, facility fees, and insurance.

• Students must also check and comply with the entry regulations issued by the Malaysian Government.

  Note: ITS students can only choose courses listed under Semester 1 and must enroll in one faculty only.

• Grading System: UKM uses a letter grading system, with A = 4.00 and E = 0.00.

Eligibility

Open to:

• ITS D4/S1 students from the 2022 and 2023 batch

• All Master’s (S2) students

Estimated Expenses

Before Arrival

• Visa Approval Letter (e-VAL): MYR 500 – MYR 1,200 (excluding bank charges)

• Pre-medical Check-up: Varies by clinic

• Single Entry Visa (SEV): Cost depends on the Malaysian Embassy in your home country

During Registration

• Admission Fee:

  • Undergraduate: MYR 390

  • Postgraduate: MYR 840

• Tuition Fee:

  • Waived for exchange students from partner universities

  • Non-partner university students: MYR 2,750 – MYR 5,000 per semester

• Accommodation (on campus):

  • Single room: MYR 680/month

  • Twin sharing room: MYR 490/month
    Students must pay a 1+1 rental deposit upon enrolment.

• Visa Stamping Fee: MYR 18

Other Expenses

• Post-arrival medical screening: MYR 250 (approx.)

• Meals: MYR 5 – MYR 15 per meal

• Academic needs (books, etc.): MYR 500/semester

• Personal expenses: MYR 350 – MYR 500/semester

Arrival Information

• Students are advised to arrive in Kuala Lumpur three (3) days before the registration date.

• A medical check-up must be completed at UKM Health Centre (Bangi Campus) within 7 days of arrival.

• Airport pickup will be available only on 3 October 2025 (Friday).

• Nearest airports: KLIA and KLIA2

4. Valid English proficiency certificate:

   • TOEFL ITP or EFL (official from UPT Bahasa ITS): min. 550

   • TOEFL iBT: min. 79

   • Duolingo: min. 95

   • IELTS: min. 6.0
     Note: EFL from Dirpendik, TOEFL Prediction, or score screenshots are not accepted.

5. Letter of Recommendation from your department

6. Scanned copy of passport (must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your exchange period)

7. Passport photo (4.5 cm x 5.0 cm, white background)

   Only the applicant and academic advisor/Head of Department need to sign.

10. Parents support letter – no format required

11. Certificate or test result of GCW:

• Minimum grade C or test score of 80

• S2 applicants may submit an R2SEP Certificate instead

Incomplete or late applications will not be processed.
