Dear ITS Students,

Pohang University of Science & Technology (POSTECH), South Korea, is pleased to announce that applications for the Global Young Leaders Program (GYLP) are now open. This fully funded academic exchange program, sponsored by POSCO & POSTECH, offers outstanding students the opportunity to study at POSTECH, participate in research, and engage in cultural immersion activities.

Scholarship Benefits

Full tuition waiver
Round-trip airfare (covered at actual expenses)
Visa and transportation support: 500,000 KRW (one-time)
Living allowance: 1,000,000 KRW per month
Cultural excursions and industry visits, including Seoul Heritage Exploration and Jeju ESG Discovery

Program Duration

1 Academic Year (September 2025 – June 2026)
Applications for only one semester are not allowed

Academic & Research Requirements

Enroll in at least 6 POSTECH major credits per semester
Complete a Korean language course each semester (Pre-Arrival Online Summer Course required)
Courses: POSTECH Course List (Fall 2025 courses are not yet available—please refer to Fall 2024 courses as a reference).
Participate in research activities during the Winter Break
Engage in cultural excursions and alumni activities

Eligibility

ITS undergraduate students (Batch 2023 or 2022)
Minimum GPA: 3.2 out of 4.0
English proficiency: TOEFL iBT 90, IELTS 6.5, or Duolingo 120
Must transfer maximum credit opportunity

Latest academic transcript (English, min. GPA 3.2)
Certificate of Enrollment (Apostille required after passing ITS selection)
Recommendation letter from a lecturer
Scanned passport (valid for at least 1 year prior to the starting date of the program)
Valid English proficiency test score (TOEFL iBT 90, IELTS 6.5, or Duolingo 120)
Statement Letter & Learning Agreement (Download here)
Motivation letter (1-2 pages, mentioning selected department/courses)
Statement of Purpose
Nomination letter (entry your personal data, submit in .docx)
Recommendation Letter from Lecturer
Certificate of GCW Non-Degree (min. C) or Result Test GCW Non-Degree (min. 80)
S2 ITS students can replace this with an R2SEP certificate
Medical check-up (Tuberculosis test, in English) – can be submitted after passing the internal selection
Parental Support Letter (signed, in English, mentioning awareness & financial support-no format required)
Self-Introduction Video (3 minutes)
- Personal background (name, university, major)
- Motivation for joining GYLP (Why POSTECH? Why South Korea?)
- Academic & research interests
- Future goals
  The video must be recorded in English, uploaded to a cloud platform (Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.), and the link should be included in the application.

Apply via Study Abroad ITS Portal
Submit all documents in PDF format as a single .zip/.rar file
