Universiti Brunei Darussalam Semester Exchange Fall 2025

Universiti Brunei Darussalam is accepting applications for the Fall 2025 Semester Exchange Program (4 August – 7 December 2025). Please note that tuition fees are not waived, and accepted students are responsible for their learning materials, accommodation, living expenses, roundtrip flight tickets, and travel insurance.

Visa Information

UBD will process a visa-on-arrival for all exchange students. To facilitate this:

• Submit a scanned passport photo page and medical insurance copy at least one month before arrival.
• Upon arrival, the International Students Unit (ISU) will endorse the visa and convert it into a student visa within two weeks.
• Before departure, students must cancel their student visa at least two weeks in advance.

Airport Transfer

UBD’s Global Relations Office will arrange airport transfers for exchange students (paid directly to the transport provider). Whenever possible, UBD student ambassadors will be present to welcome students.

Accommodation

UBD provides on-campus housing at the Core Residential College, subject to availability. The apartments are fully air-conditioned and include:

• Single-gender units with 5 bedrooms, shared kitchen, living space, and bathroom.
• Rental Fee: BND250/month (utilities included).
• Deposit: One month’s rent (paid in cash upon arrival).

To secure accommodation, submit the housing request form at least one month before arrival.

Fees and Living Costs

Visa Fees

• Visa on Arrival: BND20 (waived for Singaporean & Malaysian citizens).
• Student Visa Fees:
  • Single-entry: BND20
  • Multiple-entry: BND30 (less than 3 months) / BND50 (3–12 months)

Estimated Living Costs

• USD$300–$600/month (excluding accommodation)
• Exchange Rate: USD$1 = BND$1.36 (as of 17 December 2023, subject to change)

Course Load:

• Minimum: 16 modular credits (4 modules)
• Maximum: 20 modular credits (5 modules)

Eligibility for ITS Students

This program is open to ITS students who meet the following criteria:

1. Active students from relevant departments:
   • D4/S1 batch 2022 & 2023
2. Minimum GPA: 2.75
3. English proficiency: TOEFL/EFL minimum 550

Required Documents

1. CV
2. Scanned Official Academic Transcript (English, GPA 3.00)
3. Scanned TOEFL/EFL/IELTS Certificate (min. score 550)
4. Scanned Passport (valid at least 12 months prior to start date)
5. Motivation Letter (A4, 1 page, Arial 11, Margin 3,3,3,3)
6. Recommendation Letter from an Academic Advisor/Lecturer
7. Statement Letter & Learning Agreement (Download here)
8. Medical Check-Up Certificate & Valid Insurance (can be submitted after ITS IO selection)
9. GCW Non-Degree/GCW IUP Basic/GCW IUP Advanced or R2SEP Certificate (for Master students)
10. Parental Support Statement (financial & mental support, no format required)
