Dear ITS Students,
The International Graduate Program for Advanced Science (IGPAS), launched in October 2004 with support from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, and Technology (MEXT), offers a five-year program that combines a master’s and a doctoral degree, with options to enroll in either separately. Courses are taught in English, with Japanese language study encouraged but not required. Students join one of six departments—Mathematics, Physics, Astronomy, Geophysics, Chemistry, or Earth Science—each with its own curriculum and course requirements. Research plans are reviewed with supervisors each semester.
