Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya does not stop making breakthrough programs or innovation programs to improve ITS reputation in the international world. This time, ITS Global Engagement again held an annual short program, namely “Community and Technological Camp” commonly abbreviated as “CommTECH” with ITS international partners. After 2 years of being conducted online due to the pandemic, CommTECH is back for the first time in the form of an offline program.
CommTECH Camp Highlight is an activity held twice every year by ITS Global Engagement that aims to introduce ITS as one of the best technological universities in Indonesia to people around the world. Entering the 10th year of organizing CommTECH, ITS has succeeded in collecting 24 times the CommTECH Camp Highlight program.
In this CommTECH Camp Highlight edition, the Sub Course theme is User Experience Design. The CommTECH Camp Highlight program was held on July 25 – August 6, 2022, and was attended by 20 participants from 6 countries, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, Cambodia, and Vietnam. The participants of this program consist of students and lecturers from these countries.
Following the event’s jargon, namely Solving Local Problems with Global Knowledge, this event also provides a forum for participants to be creative and solve local problems with global insight. The participants shared ideas and thoughts to solve not only local problems in the Indonesian context but also in the context of the participants’ countries of origin. In addition to academic activities related to topics in the sub-course, participants are also invited to take part in various non-academic activities such as Campus Tour, City Tour, Traditional Games, Fun Indonesia, Cultural Session (Tor-Tor and Silat), Visit Kriya Gallery and Mirota, Visit Tile Village, and Visit Bromo.
We hope that through CommTECH Camp Highlight 2022, we can rebuild the spirit of internationalization at ITS offline. In addition, we hope this program can open, strengthen, and improve the relationship between ITS and participating universities around the world and positively impact ITS, Surabaya, and Indonesia.
