What is GPBL?
Department of Mathematics-ITS collaborating with Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT) Japan proudly presents “Global Project Based Learning (GPBL) 2022 – Mathematical Modeling of Sustainable Development Goals”.  The GPBL 2022 is an 8-day project-based course where SIT and ITS students can engage and acquire problem solving capabilities, system thinking, and system management skills through problem solving experience. This program will be held on November 6-13, 2022 at SIT, Japan.

Known as a high reputation university in Japan prominent in engineering and science, SIT upholds the philosophy of “learning through practice” for its education system.

  • Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Japan

As a top-rank research-based university in Indonesia, prominent in engineering, technology, science, and art and design, ITS strives to cultivate an international learning environment.

  • GPBL 2019 – Solving Problems in Surabaya City using Mathematical Science

 

Program Details:

Date : November 5-14, 2022

Duration : 10 Days (including arrival and departure time)

Place : Toyosu and Omiya Campus, Shibaura Institute of Technology Japan. (on-site)

Activities     : Lectures, discussion, project presentation, and fun activities. (Download the schedule here)

Participant : ITS & SIT Students

* Note that the students are responsible for their own living expenses during the program.

 

 

Call for Participants

Eligibilities:

  1. Active ITS bachelor student from any batch and any major (preferably but not limited to students of Mathematics Department)
  2. Having good English (oral and written)
  3. Minimum GPA 2.75
  4. Highly motivated, committed, and discipline

Requirements:

  1. Academic CV in English. (Free Format)

  3. An official transcript of the applicant’s academic record in the last one academic year (in English)
  4. Language Certificate (English and/ or Japanese if any).
  5. Your portrait photo as jpeg.
  6. Copy of applicants Passport (Photo and signature should be on the page).
  7. Scanned of Parents letter support (the letter must be signed by your parents and the letter must mention about the awareness of your parents about this program. Please also mention that your parents support you for the financial and other things if you are accepted in this program. Free format)

Selection Timeline

  • July 2022 – Call for participants
  • July 31, 2022 – Deadline for application
  • August 2-5, 2022 – Selection and Interview (in English)
  • August 12, 2022 – Participant announcement (The result will be sent by email)
  • August 19, 2021 – Participant briefing

  • At most 80,000JPY JASSO Scholarship for each student depending on the GPA.

Jasso Scholarship Condition

  • The applicants are not allowed to obtain any scholarship from the other organization during the program
  • Multiple JASSO scholarships could not be provided by participating in more than two programs at the same time.
