Canada is the world’s third-leading country as a destination for studying abroad. Not only to many world-class universities, Canada is also home to multicultural communities and untouched natural wonders. Not to mention the low crime rate that it holds, makes Canada the perfect option for international students to stay and experience studying abroad in the best way possible. Canada is also a prospect for researchers, where it is one of the ten leading countries for scientific research.
Here are some scholarships that you can still apply for this year:
University of Saskatchewan Graduate Scholarship
The University of Saskatchewan offers postgraduate studies scholarships. Their PhD scholarships are valued at 20,000 Canadian dollars (tenable for up to 36 months) each; alternatively, their Master’s Thesis is valued at CA$16,000 (tenable for up to 24 months). Please note the applicants must be full-time, fully-qualified students who are either continuing their program or are in the process of being admitted into a graduate degree program in the university. Students must be in the first 36 months of a Master’s degree program or the first 48 months of a Doctoral degree program to apply for or hold a scholarship. Applicants must have a minimum of 80% average as a continuing student or entrance average as a prospective student. Deadline to apply is 22 February 2021.
Université Montréal International Student Scholarship Programme
The UdeM exemption scholarship programme aims to support international candidates in their university studies. They offer graduate scholarships for students. The scholarship is valued at CA$9,420 per year (three sessions, equivalent to 45 credits) or CA$3,140 per session (equivalent to 15 credits). “This amount is applied to tuition fees of $27,300 per year (45 credits),” it said. Deadline for the winter intake for a master’s, specialised graduate diploma (DESS), microprogramme or PhD is 1 September 2021.
