Driving Strategic Initiatives for ITS Global Reputation: Learning from UTM’s Experience in WCU Workshop Session 7

World Class University (WCU) Workshop reached its seventh session, that was held on 12 August 2020 through Zoom meeting. This session could be considered as a special session. There was a welcome remark by ITS Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Mochamad Ashari, M.Eng. by warmly greeted the speaker and audiences. The topic of this session was “Driving Strategic Initiatives for ITS Global Reputation: Learning from UTM’s Experience”. The speaker for the topic was Prof. Dr. Nordin Yahaya, professor from UTM.

Prof. Nordin shared about how was the characteristics of a world class university, challenges UTM faced in becoming a world class university, and how the QS Survey for Academic or Researcher or Employer Reputation was. He also talked about the strategic plan for becoming a world class university, which led an exciting discussion between Prof. Nordin and the audiences from ITS Elements.

The seventh session of the WCU workshop was then continued with a question and answer session which was followed enthusiastically by the workshop participants. In the end of QnA session, Prof. Nordin encouraged ITS to collaborate with more universities, including UTM itself. This offer was appreciated warmly by Maria Anityasari, as Director of Global Engagement. Finally, the workshop was closed with a photo session with all workshop participants.
