International Summer University 2020 at Hochschule Darmstadt

Dear ITS Students,

Hochschule Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (Germany) invited ITS students to join “International Summer University 2020 at Hochschule Darmstadt”

the International Summer University (ISU) 2019 at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences on “In Transition to a Pure Green Energy Economy” is taking place from July 12 until August 08, 2020.

The academic module, which is organized and to be taught by Prof. Sebastian Herold from the Department of Business and Prof. Kevin Taylor, a guest lecturer from Purdue University (USA), will focus especially on three challenges on the way towards a green energy economy:

1)    Transforming supply: Technology as a driver for real competitive renewable energies

2)    Transforming demand: Smart homes and smart cars for smart people

3)    Transforming business: Strategic impacts on business models

The academic module will contain excursions to both Berlin and Munich including the following site visits:

–          EUREF campus: a smart city within Berlin (smart buildings, smart grid site, mobility sharing, use of renewable energies)

–          Vattenfall power station (smarter living, e-mobility options/projects, etc)

–          German Museum (energy technology exhibition)

In addition to the academic module, students will attend a German language class that is organized by the Language Center.  

Excursions to different cities in the state of Hessen, such as Frankfurt and Ruedesheim (Rhine River Valley), and other leisure activities, such as hiking, canoeing and an international picnic complement the program.

Program fee:
€1990 – including 3-weeks tuition, field trips and excursions, accommodation in shared twin rooms in a hotel, health, accident and liability insurance, and social activities.

However, Hochschule Darmstadt will give 2 special price (€ 900) for the selected ITS Students. The selected participants also must cover another expenses including airfare ticket and visa.

This program are open for ITS Students S2/S3 all batch, Diploma/S1 batch 2017, 2018 & 2019 (IUP only)

2. Copy of Valid Certificate TOEFL (You must use minimum ITS EFL Certificate) with minimum score 477 / Valid IELTS certificate with minimum score 6.0
3. Scanned of Passport Information Page with validity minimum 1 year
4. Scanned of ID Student
5. Application form (completed with photo)

6. Short Motivation Letter in English

The motivation letter should be short but concise and you may refer to following aspects:

• Why are you interested to join the winter course at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences?
• What is your special interest in the subject?
• What added benefit do you expect to get by joining a short-term programme in Germany?
• How does the topic relate to your studies?
• What skills and knowledge do you have to successfully complete the programme?
• How do you prepare yourself for the programme?

Please submit all of your documents (soft copy in PDF format) to Mr. Wahyu at studyabroad@its.ac.id (email subject: Apply_SummerSchool_Darmstadt_Name_NRP) maximum on April 6, 2020 (16.00 WIB). However, you must bring the original statement letter (hard copy) in the interview process on 9 or 10 April 2020.
