The China-ASEAN Scholar Program is a fellowship program initiated by ASEAN-China Network for Cooperation and Exchanges among Engineering and Technology Universities (ACNET-EngTech) at Tianjin University (TJU). It aims to strengthen academic collaboration between TJU and universities in ASEAN countries through providing funded short-term visit opportunity. Scholars from ASEAN countries will be hosted by one of TJU academic schools. During the visit, they will work with TJU faculties together for 1 to 3 months in the field of mutual interest. To give greater flexibility for scholars, specific research projects or academic activities will be determined by participants and hosting academic school together on case by case basis. The mobility will start on/after September 2019.
Benefits for Participants Tianjin University will provide funding to the participants, including: – Roundtrip, economy class airfare – Accommodation – Monthly Stipend: 15,000 RMB per month (pre tax)
Application Requirement Participants should meet the following requirement: 1. Non-Chinese citizens from ASEAN Countries: Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Philippines, Viet Nam 2. Minimum 5 years of research experience in the following field: Marine Science; Chemical Engineering; Civil Engineering; Electrical Engineering; Environmental Science; Computer Science; Materials Science; Mechanical Engineering; Biological Sciences; Mathematics; Chemistry; Physics; Management and Economics; Medical Engineering; Optical Engineering; Pharmaceutical Science. 3. High level of English proficiency. Good command of Chinese is a plus. 4. Prior experience for working or studying internationally is desirable.
Application period: The application is open from May 1st, 2019 to October 15th , 2019. However, high priority will be given to participants applying before June 6th, 2019
Application Procedure Participants will be selected competitively based on research background and the needs of TJU academic schools. Please check the following steps to learn how the program is administered: Step 1: Please send the application material to the Office of International Cooperation at Tianjin University through the following email: acnet_engtech@tju.edu.cn and int_off@its.ac.id Application material includes: – Application form (click here https://www.its.ac.id/international/wp-content/uploads/sites/66/2019/05/Application-Form.doc) – CV or resume – Scanned Passport – Scanned diploma ( highest degree) Step 2: After receiving your application, the International Cooperation Office of TJU will send application material to relevant academic school to review the application material. Step 3: An invitation letter will be issued for VISA application if one of TJU’s academic school will be able to host the visit. Step 4: VISA application and arrival
