On 25 March 2019, 11 students, 1 staff, and 1 faculty member from Kasetsart University Thailand visited Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya on a program called Student Competency Development for Global Awareness. It was a program which was intended to broaden the knowledge of Kasetsart students on student organization on the campus.

The program started with a welcoming ceremony. It was opened by Dr. Eng. Trika Pitana, Deputy Director of ITS International Office. Following that, there was the introduction of ITS and the introduction of ITS original summer program, CommTECH Camp Highlight 2019 to the students. The program was continued by campus tour in ITS library, BAPKM, ITS canteen, and finally Student Community Center (SCC).

There was also a presentation from BEM (Badan Eksekutif MahasiswaITS or the student body of ITS and LMB (Lembaga Minat Bakat). The program was closed with a sharing session between the students of Kasetsart and ITS.

“In our university, there is a policy that every student leader must have international experience.” Said Ajarn (Teacher in Thailand) Suratwadee Aruwarakorn, Assistant to the President of Student Affairs at Kasetsart University. Hopefully, this visitation will strengthen the relationship between ITS and Kasetsart University and increase global awareness for both university leaders.
