Continuing the success of the first Global Competency Workshop (GCW) in 2015, ITS International Office held the second GCW. Sequence topics were discussed along nine days that assembled in three weeks consecutively, started from Thursday (8/10).

In the beginning of the workshop, participants were given some facts and reasons why we should go global. Then, Global Opportunities and Qualifications Reference Framework (QRF) materi’were given to open the participant’s mind. There are some new topics discussed along this workshop such as Global Thingking, Delivering Ideas, and Discussion Ethics. This topics aimed to prepare participants to be able to work and to discuss with people from abroad.

The main topic discussed with more than 50 students were about preparing Application Document, writing Bussiness Letter, creating powerfull Curriculum Vitae, and successing Interview. Every session in this workshop was given by expert speakers, such as application document topic by DrDhany Arifianto ST, M.Eng as the reviewer of LPDP Scholarship, Lobbying and Negotiation by Achmad Rizal Mustaqiem who has travelled to USA for joining as the delegation for Harvard Model United Nation, Do & Don’t and Tips Trick by Shelvy E Santoso who also has so many international exposures in USA, Japan, and Malaysia by fully funding programs.

To refresh the participant’s mind, there was also outbond session where they played some games with international students. This session intends to make participants engange and feel the international atmosphere.   

In the end of this program, Dr Maria Anityasari, Head of ITS International Office, also gave brief closing remarks. She stated that it is important for students to win the competition with foreigner, but the most important is having nationality and noble personality. That is the reason, beside learning  about global competencies, participants were also learned to be discipline and be punctual as part of the character building.
