Studying abroad will be an interesting and exciting experience in your life. Your study period will bring you more than study credits. You will learn to study and work with students of different nationalities and you will have to express yourself in a foreign language while experiencing a different culture. ITS welcomes short-term visits or non-degree programs such as:

 

1. Internship / Research

ITS offers a world-class research environment where students can learn and solve important issues facing our world today and into the future. ITS has a reputation for working successfully with business, industry and the community to solve problems that require practical and innovative outcomes. Comprehensive facilities will support the research and internship activities. In this program students can stay between one to six months without paying tuition fees.

ITS also open for students who want to lab internship in ITS (1 – 6 months) without paying tuition fees. However, the students should cover tall of their living expenses. Here the list and contact of the laboratory who accept students for lab internship. For the students who interest to do lab internship, should contact the lab first, after get approval form the lab, the students can contact International Office for admission process.

For the document requirements of internship application:

  1. Internship Proposal (contains about research plan)
  2. motivation letter maximum of 300 words detailing the applicant’s interest to have internship (research) at ITS
  3. Recommendation Letter from Home University
  4. Transcript and certificate  of Senior High School (for Bachelor applicant) or certificate of Bachelor (for Master applicant) where the applicant has taken previous courses
  5. University academic transcript of previous semester
  6. English Proficiency Certification with minimum score: TOEFL IBT 64, IELTS 5.5, TOEFL PBT 500 min (could be replaced by statement letter by University which stating that English is used as the medium of instruction)
  7. Filled Application Form*
  8. Filled Health Information Form*
  9. Photo, with the requirements:
  • formal clothing
  • red background
  • no hat & glasses
  • face and body are looking straight

Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education Study Permit documents requirements:

  1. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  2. Scan of Biodata page and cover page of Applicant’s passport (Passport’s expiry date must be more than 18 months after exchange program start).
  3. Health certificate (released by doctor or hospital)
  4. Statement Letter of Program*
  5. Statement Letter of Funding*

2. Student Exchange

Study abroad or exchange student can provide you with global skills to succeed in real-world. You wtill experience new cultures and build international contacts, while you travel to some of the Indonesia’s most beautiful locations.

Students at ITS’s partner universities may be eligible to come to Surabaya to study for one or two semesters on Exchange Program without paying tuition fees (please check with ITS International Office for particular agreement between ITS and partner universities). Under reciprocal agreement, students may be eligible for free dormitory during their stay at ITS.

Students from other universities are also welcome to study at ITS Study Abroad Program. Student may stay for maximum six  months without paying tuition fee.

STUDENT EXCHANGE INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI SEPULUH NOPEMBER (ITS) – INDONESIA

1. Regular Student Exchange

ITS regularly receives applications of exchange students every semester. The semester in ITS begins on February  for even semester and on August for odd semester. As the students will join regular courses, thus the students are expected to send application for the exchange program to ITS at least three months in advance prior the commencement date. The announcement for successful applicants will be announced in two weeks. Under this regular exchange program, there will be no financial support from ITS. The students are responsible for any costs for the program. However, we will assist the students to secure their accommodation at the first time. The students coming from our partner university will be given a priority to stay in the university Guest House or Dormitory. The following are the schedule for the exchange program.

 

Spring Semester/February Commencement: 4 February – 24 May 2019

  • October 15th         :  Deadline application 
  • November 15th     :  Announcement to the applicants

Fall Semester/August Commencement: Late August – Mid of December 2019

  • April 15th               :  Deadline application for odd semester
  • May 15th                :  Announcement to the applicants

2. Student Exchange by Darmasiswa Scholarship

Darmasiswa scholarship is a scholarship provided by the Ministry of Education and Culture Indonesia. The scholarship covers all expenses during the exchange program e.g. living allowance, air-fare, health insurance, etc. More details about Darmasiswa scholarship can be found at Darmasiswa website. Please be noticed that the Darmasiswa scholarship is not only for language training, however it can be used for attending courses in any subjects with transferable credits.
