Bachelor of Physics provides courses, with minimum 144 credits to accomplish, consist of:

Compulsory Courses = 122 credits

  • Enrichment Courses = 3 credits
  • Final Project = 6 credits

Selective/Optional Courses = 12 credits

Practical Works are required to support courses and Final Projects. There are several Physics-related fields students can choose:

Duration of study is 8 (eight) semesters or 4 (four) years. Students are required to accomplish TOEFL with minimum score at 477.

New student admissions for the BoP at DoP-ITS are carried out centrally at ITS using three admission systems, which are:

  1. The National Selection of State University Acceptance, or in Bahasa Indonesia it calls as Seleksi Nasional Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (SNMPTN),
  2. Simultaneous Selection of State University Acceptance, or in Bahasa Indonesia it is better known as Seleksi Bersama Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (SBMPTN),
  3. Partnership by Recommendation from a firm Acceptance or by Independent Acceptance, or in Bahasa Indonesia it is known as Seleksi Kemitraan dan Mandiri (SKM).

The details of the quota for new students received through the SNMPTN, SBMPTN, and SKM pathways are 30%, 40%, and 30%, respectively, of the total capacity of the BoP at DoP-ITS. This is as stated in http://smits.its.ac.id/sarjana/

The selection of new students through the SNMPTN route is based on the scores obtained from semester 1 to semester 5 for applicants from senior high school graduates (In Indonesia we call them as Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) / Madrasah Aliyah (MA)) with a maximum study period of 3 years, or semester 1 to semester 7 for applicants from Vocational High School (in Indonesia we call it as Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK)) graduates with a maximum study period of 4 years. Each applicant is given the option to choose two universities where one of the selected universities must be in the same province as they were SMA or SMK, where they spend their studies. Applicants can choose up to a maximum of 2 study programs that can be selected for the same university. The order of the selected universities and study programs determines the priority options.

Admission of new students through the SBMPTN route is intended for graduates of Senior High School and / or Vocational High Schools up to the last 3 years from the date of graduation. Selection is carried out simultaneously using a written test which includes Basic Mathematics, English, Indonesian, Advanced Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Integrated Science. Students who pass the selection depend on the capacity of each study program.

The third admission route, the prospective students register at state universities with the Recommended Partnership Acceptance and Independent Program (SKM Program). The SKM Program is intended for graduates of Senior High School and / or Vocational High School who meet the requirements set by ITS and must be a representative of a firm, institution or government agency that has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) or Memorandum of Agreement (MoA)) with ITS.

The final selection method (The Bidik Misi Program), applicants who come from underprivileged backgrounds can apply for assistance for their school fees. The applications can be downloaded by logging into http://bidikmisi.dikti.go.id. The Bidik Misi Program is a program from the Indonesian government that provides scholarships to underprivileged students. The goal of this program is to fund student living expenses and tuition fees for 8 semesters.

While studying at ITS, the progress of ITS students is evaluated by the Bureau of Academic and Student Planning or in Indonesia better known as Biro Akademik, Kemahasiswaan dan Perencaan (BAKP) through the Academic Management Information System (Sistem Informasi Manajemen Akademik). / SIM Akademik). This system can be accessed 24 hours both from inside and outside the ITS campus via the internet with personal ID (https://akademik.its.ac.id/home.php). At the end of each semester, this Bureau sends a report on the evaluation results of student studies to parents / guardians.
