DESIGN OF ELECTRIC-BASED JET SKI FOR RESCUE NEEDS AT MARINE TOURISM DESTINATIONS IN INDONESIA

Background

The study focuses on the problem of increasing activities in the maritime tourism waters of Indonesia, which has led to an increase in accidents and the need for reliable lifesaving equipment. Although jet skis are effective for rescue operations, their limitations during nighttime reduce their reliability. Stringent regulations on conventional fuel-powered jet skis also pose potential challenges in the market. The research aims to explore the opportunities for developing sustainable electric-based jet ski rescue. The main objective is to design a safe, reliable, and marketable electric-based jet ski rescue for Indonesia, addressing the existing gap in the market. The research methodology involves gathering primary data through interviews with jet ski users and field observations, as well as secondary data from relevant literature. The analysis results serve as the foundation for the ideation and conceptual design process of the electric-based jet ski, emphasizing safety and reliability. The final design places emphasis on safety and reliability aspects, while also appealing to the environmentally conscious jet ski market. The study is expected to fill the void in the market for electric-based jet ski rescue in Indonesia and contribute to the sustainability of the maritime tourism sector. In conclusion, a safe and reliable electric-based jet ski rescue presents an attractive solution to address security challenges in maritime tourism destinations. By focusing on sustainability and operational effectiveness, this research provides a positive contribution to the jet ski rescue industry.
