The Department of Civil Infrastructure Engineering, Vocational Faculty, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), received an invitation to attend a mental health awareness seminar organized by Menur Hospital Surabaya entitled “Ngobrol Bareng Psikolog: Mental Sehat, Tugas Beres, Prestasi Melesat” (“Talk with a Psychologist: Healthy Mind, Completed Tasks, Outstanding Achievement”), which was held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Menur Hospital Surabaya. This activity served as a platform for sharing experiences as well as an educational forum for students in maintaining mental health amidst increasingly dynamic academic activities and demands.
Carrying the theme “Healthy Mind, Completed Tasks, Outstanding Achievement,” the event was attended by students from the Department of Civil Infrastructure Engineering in a warm, interactive, and enthusiastic atmosphere. The participants actively engaged in discussions and shared experiences regarding challenges commonly faced by students, ranging from stress management and academic pressure to maintaining a balance between academic responsibilities and personal life.
Present as the main speaker, Ms. Lisa, a psychologist, provided various insights regarding the importance of mental health for university students. In her presentation, she explained that mental health is an essential foundation in supporting the learning process, productivity, and self-development of students. In addition, participants were encouraged to understand how to recognize signs of excessive stress and learn simple steps to maintain healthy psychological well-being.
The event was also attended by Ms. Mumun, Vice Director of Menur Hospital Surabaya, who expressed support for educational collaboration between educational institutions and healthcare services. The presence of Menur Hospital is expected to become a strategic partner in providing mental health education and assistance for students.
Furthermore, the activity was accompanied by Ms. Murni Sari Dewi, S.Tr.M., as the student advisor from the Department of Civil Infrastructure Engineering, Vocational Faculty, ITS. Through this event, it is hoped that students will become more open to discussing mental health issues and be able to foster a more supportive, healthy, and productive academic environment.
The “Ngobrol Bareng Psikolog” activity represents one of the Department of Civil Infrastructure Engineering, Vocational Faculty ITS’s efforts to pay attention to student well-being, not only from an academic perspective but also in terms of mental health as an important aspect in supporting academic success and character development among students.
