A study excursion organized by the Manufacturing Systems Laboratory, Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (DTSI ITS), was officially held as a learning activity to broaden knowledge of manufacturing systems practices and business management in the global industry. This activity aimed to provide a first-hand look at how multinational companies integrate business processes, technology, and corporate values in their operations. Through this study excursion, participants were expected to connect academic concepts of manufacturing systems with real-world implementation in the industrial world.
The study excursion took place on Monday, June 2, 2025, with the purpose of visiting PT Liebherr. During this study excursion, members of the Manufacturing Systems Laboratory, consisting of lecturers and laboratory assistants, studied various strategic aspects of the company. The learning focused on PT Liebherr’s core business processes, the use of technology to support company operations, and the range of services provided as part of its customer service strategy.
In addition, participants gained insight into PT Liebherr’s commitment to sustainable production and an understanding of the core values that underpin the company’s work culture. The presentation illustrates the importance of integrating processes, technology, and company values in creating a superior and sustainable manufacturing system. Therefore, this comparative study is a strategic step in supporting the development of learning and improving the quality of human resources in the manufacturing system sector.
