A study excursion organized by the Manufacturing Systems Laboratory, Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (DTSI ITS), was officially held as part of an applied learning program aimed at broadening participants’ knowledge of industrial systems management in the upstream energy sector. This activity was designed to strengthen participants’ understanding of the application of business processes, organizational governance, and corporate values to support effective and sustainable operational performance.
The study excursion took place on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, with the purpose of visiting PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam. During this opportunity, members of the Manufacturing Systems Laboratory, consisting of lecturers and laboratory assistants, received a comprehensive presentation on the company’s core business processes, including how the company’s organizational structure is selected and designed to align with operational needs in the field. This understanding provided a concrete illustration of the importance of a suitable organizational structure in supporting the effectiveness and efficiency of work systems.
Furthermore, this study excursion provided strategic insights into PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam’s vision to support the achievement of net-zero emissions by 2060, as well as how the company internalizes and implements AKHLAK values in its daily work culture. Through this activity, participants not only gain technical and managerial understanding, but also understand the importance of integration between sustainability strategies, corporate values, and organizational governance in building a responsible and competitive industrial system.
