PTNB Affirmation Scholarship

The Directorate General of Higher Education continues to encourage and improve the number of lecturers who have a master’s minimum academic qualifications through various approaches. A variety of systematic steps and ongoing improvements always implement in both the TMPD, BPPS, and BPPDN current era. For example, a variety of studies indicate the quality gaps in graduate students, especially those from the new public university (PTNB). Besides, there are still many PTNB lecturers who do not have a master’s degree. It takes strategic steps to facilitate them to be able to participate in a quality postgraduate program in the country. A. Conditions From PTNB Affirmation Scholarship

 

General Conditions

 

PTNB’s Scholarship Affirmation of the Directorate General of Higher Education is given to the study program at PTNB organizers who conduct the Magister Program (S2) and have obtained the accreditation of BAN-PT.

 

Conditions For the University

 

  • PTNB Affirmations are awarded to students who start lectures in the odd semester (September intake).
  • Organizers’ universities are not permitted to collect other fees except registration, selection, and graduation fees.
  • In selecting PTNB Affirmation applicants, the Program Director / Dean of the Postgraduate Programs (PPs) must consider the following three things:
    • The relevance of the doctoral program (S3) field of study undertaken with the applicant’s undergraduate (S1) and master’s (S2) field of study;
    • Reasonable distribution based on regional origin and tertiary institution;
    • Individual assignments from the Directorate General of Higher Education to universities.
  • The PPs Organizers select the list of proposals above, and the status of the PTNB Affirmation applicant who had met the requirements must have been assigned its status as a qualified applicant through the page beasiswa.ristekdikti.go.id/bppdn
  • The list of student names submitted (determined by the status) by the PPs Organizers is only a proposal. In contrast, the Directorate General of Higher Education can decide the recipient of PTNB Scholarship Affirmation
  • Program Managers / Deans of Postgraduate Schools organizers are not permitted to promise someone to be a recipient of a PTNB Affirmation or provide information about a PTNB Affirmation recipient to applicants before a Decree of the Director of Human Resources Qualification is issued.
  • Distribution of scholarship funds will be done through a contract between the Directorate General of Science and Technology Resources and Higher Education with each Dean Organizer or following applicable conditions.
  • To speed up the process, the PPs Organizers are required to make a Letter Of Agreement between the scholarship recipient, the university, the recipient’s workplace, and the PPs Organizers.
  • If the scholarship recipient resigns or graduates earlier than the specified time (24 months for the Master Program (S2)), or for other reasons, then all components of scholarship funds should not be given. The recipient should return the remaining scholarship through the applicable refund procedure.
  • The PPs Organizers should send a Returned Letter of a PTNB Affirmation recipient who has completed his studies to the university, with Carbon Copy Notation to the Directorate General of Science and Technology Resources and Higher Education.

 

Conditions For the Scholarship Applicants

PTNB Affirmation Applicants must obtain the approval of the head of the previous university/institution, and submit it to the Program Director/Dean of the designated graduate school.

Other special conditions are as follows:

  • PTNB Affirmation Applicants are only allowed to submit the proposal to one (1) public university that organizes the PTNB Affirmation.
  • Scholarships are not awarded to applicants at the same level of education.
  • Scholarships are not awarded to those who are receiving scholarships (which include: living expenses, book purchase fees, research fees, and/or costs of organizing education) sourced from Indonesia’s government funds.
  • Scholarships are awarded to students who start lecturing in the odd semester (September lectures).
  • The age limit of PTNB Affirmation Recipients is 40 years for Master Program, counted on December 31 of the current year.
  • The duration of the PTNB Affirmation is maximum for 24 months for the master’s program.
  • After completing studies, PTNB Affirmation Recipients are required to serve at the university where they study for 1n + 1 year (n is the time of receiving PTNB Affirmation in units of year), according to Minister of Education Regulation No. 48 of 2009.
  • PTNB Affirmation Recipients are required to follow all academic requirements in the PPs Organizers and/or Minister of National Education Regulation No. 48/2009 regarding guidelines for assigning learning tasks to civil servants within the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education.
  • PTNB Affirmation Recipients who violate the conditions above are subject to sanctions in the form of refunding PTNB Affirmations twice the amount issued by the Government to the State Treasury Service Office (KPPN) through the applicable refund procedure.

 

B. Requirements For PTNB Affirmation Applicants

 

Following its purpose, this scholarship is intended for lecturers who already have NIDN / NUPN. In detail, the requirements for PTNB Affirmation recipient candidates for lecturers are as follows:

  1. Lecturers at the new public universities within the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education who already have NIDN / NUPN;
  2. Not currently serving in a structural position at the university where they teach;
  3. Meet the requirements of the Learning Task arranged in the Minister of National Education Regulation No. 48 of 2009. The Learning Task Decree (as stated in the regulation) must be obtained maximum at one year after being accepted as a student. All consequences resulting from not taking care of the Learning Task Decree become the responsibility of the lecturer concerned and the university that sent it.
