ITS Campus, ITS News — Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has once again been entrusted as the center for the implementation of the Computer-Based Written Test (UTBK) National Selection Based on Test (SNBT) 2026. Rather than monitoring from a distance, the ITS Rector Prof Dr (HC) Ir Bambang Pramujati ST MSc Eng PhD and his staff directly checked the readiness of several examination locations on the first day of the UTBK implementation at ITS, Wednesday (22/4) morning.
The Professor of the ITS Department of Mechanical Engineering immediately conducted an inspection at the ITS Tower 1 Building as one of the examination points. He appeared satisfied with the condition of the rooms, which were considered ready and conducive for participants. “The implementation side and the number of supervisors are already quite good,” he stated.
In terms of security, ITS applies strict screening procedures in every room. Every participant is checked using a metal detector, including a thorough check of watches, glasses, and accessories that have the potential to be communication tools. “We check all suspicious items so that there is no cheating,” emphasized Bambang.
Not only during the examination, ITS has also prepared post-examination mitigation through face recognition technology based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). “We use this technology to ensure that the participants who register, take the exam, and re-register are the same person,” said the alumnus of the ITS Mechanical Engineering undergraduate program.

Bambang also highlighted the high enthusiasm of participants who arrived long before the exam time started. As a form of service improvement, the ITS Central Canteen will also operate or open earlier at 05:30 WIB, so that participants and companions can have breakfast before the exam. Additionally, adequate waiting rooms are provided for both participants and companions at the exam locations, along with five UTBK information posts in the campus area.
This year, ITS serves 12,585 participants spread across 48 examination location points throughout the campus. The implementation takes place from April 22 – 29, except for April 26, with two sessions each day except for Friday which only has one session. On average, approximately 1,022 participants take the exam in each session.
Meanwhile, in the first session on the first day of UTBK implementation at ITS, 38 participants were recorded as absent and 13 participants were recorded as having committed administrative violations. These administrative violations included not bringing a high school/vocational school diploma or equivalent, or a certificate confirming their status as a 12th-grade student from their school.

Beyond the examination locations, the Rector’s review continued to the ITS Directorate of Technology Development and Information Systems (DPTSI) located on the 4th floor of the ITS Research Center Building, to directly monitor the condition of the servers and the main network supporting the UTBK implementation. “We want to ensure the network system used runs smoothly,” added the top leader of ITS.
On the same occasion, the Director of Technology Development and Information Systems (PTSI) ITS, Bagus Jati Santoso SKom PhD, emphasized that his team increased the number of servers from two to three units to facilitate the transmission of answers to the center. “The internet network was also strengthened by shifting student lectures to online,” he added.
Through the orderly organization of UTBK supported by reliable technology, ITS affirms its role in creating fair and equal access to higher education selection for all prospective Indonesian students. This is in line with ITS’s commitment to supporting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 4 regarding Quality Education. (ITS PUBLIC RELATIONS)
