ITS Campus, ITS News – After completing registration for 2023 new students through the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP) and National Selection Based on Tests (SNBT), the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) is now starting to open registration through the Independent selection route. In the independent selection route held by ITS, there are three types of pathways which include partnerships, general, and achievements for the regular undergraduate (S1) and applied undergraduate (D4) programs.

Through an online socialization titled Discussing the Completeness of Independent Selection 2023, Tuesday (6/6), the Head of the ITS Admission Subdirectorate Dr. Eng Unggul Wasiwitono ST MEngSc said that the independent selection is one of three regular program admission selections presented by ITS, with a weighting of 50 percent of total admissions. The purpose of this selection is to act as a bridge between prospective new students and ITS State Universities (PTN) in addition to going through the SNBP and SNBT routes.

Unggul explained applicants for the independent selection through the partnership and general routes are required to first take the Academic Ability Test (TKA) held by ITS. Meanwhile, for achievement track applicants, selection will be made based on report cards and academic or non-academic achievements.

For the foreign workers themselves, continued Superior, it consists of an Academic Potential Test (TPA) and a Field Ability Test (TKB) with the processing time for each subtest being 90 minutes. The implementation itself will be carried out online.

“Therefore, it is necessary to prepare a PC (personal computer) or laptop equipped with a webcam, software in the form of Zoom meetings, and internet with a speed of more than 5 Mbps,” said the lecturer of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

For now, said Unggul, registration for the Independent selection applies to all eight faculties at ITS. Includes the Faculty of Science and Data Analytics (FSAD/SCIENTICS); Faculty of Industrial Technology and Systems Engineering (FTIRS/INDYSIS); Faculty of Civil, Planning and Earth Engineering (FTSPK/CIVPLAN), Faculty of Marine Technology (FTK/MARTECH); Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (FTEIC/ELECTICS); Faculty of Creative Design and Digital Business (FDKBD/CREABIZ); Vocational Faculty (FV/VOCATION); and the Faculty of Medicine and Health (FKK/MEDICS).

In these eight faculties, there are 41 departments available for new student admissions in 2023. “Before registering for this independent selection route, applicants are also required to create a MyITS Admission account first,” Unggul reminded them.

For how to create their own MyITS Admission account, explained Unggul, applicants were first asked to open the https://admission.its.ac.id/ page, then register by entering their data. Furthermore, applicants are asked to upload the required number of files, one of which is an Identity Card (KTP). Finally, after registering, applicants can immediately return to the homepage and then choose the selection path they want to follow.
