ITS Campus, ITS News – To prevent the spread of the Corona Disease Virus (COVID-19), ITS has mandates all civitas academica to carry out its duties at home from 16-27 March 2020. But in order to keep ITS presence during the service, ITS also launched a presences application in the network (online) to record the presence of lecturers and educational personnel named myITS WorkTime and will be applied from Monday (23/3) tomorrow.

An app that is innovated as one of the features of the myITS e-learning platform records the time and location of the user when they starts working until they finished, as is the case when attendance at the office is absent. “There is also any job logger feature that was done during the working session,” said Dr Umi Laili Yuhana SKom MSc, director of Technology Development and Information Systems (DPTSI).

This application was born through cooperation between DPTSI (Sub Directorate of Application and Digital Platform with Sub Directorate of Infrastructure and Security of information technology) with Unit management and Control Program (UP3) under the Institute Secretary. The application that serves as a substitute for fingerprint attendance at this campus is completed in two days.

Yuhana, her nickname, revealed that myITS WorkTime leverages the features of location services available on its computer or mobile phone devices. “To improve location detection accuracy, users are advised to use a smartphone and enable location Services (GPS) before starting work and record attendance in the application,” she explained.

Yuhana hopes, myITS WorkTime can be used well during the self-contained quarantine period. It also does not close the possibility that this application can be developed to facilitate the recording of lecturers and Tendik attendance that work remotely to the future. “The problem (application) is certainly waiting for the father of the Rector by keeping up with the rules of work and targeted things,” said the woman from Tulungagung.
