Vision

To be an innovative and creative international department in the field of computer engineering.

Mission

  • Organizing education that is oriented towards computer technology innovation and its implementation for the community and international reputation (education).

  • Producing professional and creative graduates and mastering future technology in the field of computer engineering (education).

  • Developing the latest and innovative research in the field of computer engineering including the development of research in the Internet of Things, Data Science, Virtual Reality, Computer Networks, Biomedical Engineering and Big Data (research).

  • Actively contributing to solving problems in the public (public dedication).

  • Actively conducting international cooperation in the field of education and research (international).

Objective

The vision of the BoCE is becoming one of the reputable departments on a global scale with the spirit of innovation and creativity in the field of Computer Engineering. 

The missions of the study program are the description of the duty, obligation, responsibility, and action plan formulated according to the study program vision that can be used as the basis of Tridharma development which contains educations and teachings, researches and developments, and community service. The mission of BoCE are the following: 

  1. Administer an education with the orientation of computer technological innovation and its implementation for the public and become reputable on the global scale (educations). 
  2. Deliver professional and creative graduates which mastering the technological advancement of the field of computer engineering (educations). 
  3. Promote innovative and latest research on the field of computer engineering which contains research developments of the Internet of Things, Data Science, Virtual Reality, Computer Networking, Biomedical Engineering, and Big Data (research).  
  4. Actively resolving the current issue on the community (community service). 
  5. Actively participate in international cooperation in the field of educations and research (internationalization). 

BoCE formulated 6 graduates profile or Program Educational Objectives (PEO) according to the Subject Specific Criteria on ASIIN for Electrical Engineering / Informatics Technology (accessible on https://www.asiin.de/en/qualitymanagement/accreditation-degree-programmes/quality-criteria.html).. Those 6 PEOs are the following: 

  1. Computer Engineering graduates show constructive and contributive character for themselves and the people of the nation with the basis of The One Almighty God. 
  2. Computer Engineering graduates have the knowledge and understanding in the field of natural science and engineering for the field of Computer Engineering. 
  3. Computer Engineering graduates can analyze the problems related to applications of the field of computer engineering and be able to recommend a solution based on knowledge and understanding in the field of computer engineering. 
  4. Computer Engineering graduates can develop hardware and/or software design that fulfills the need for global markets evaluated by the aspects of maintainability, sustainability, and manufacturability. 
  5. Computer Engineering graduates can demonstrate their expertise in problem–solving by considering the aspect of health, security, and law including economical and environmental requirements. 
  6. Computer Engineering graduates can demonstrate their awareness towards project management and business practice and the awareness to be involved in self-learning for a lifetime. 

Targets and Achievement Strategies

To realize the objective of the ITS Computer Engineering undergraduate study program, targets were set in the form of measurable targets divided into 3 3-year milestones, namely: Strengthening milestone in the 2016 – 2019 period, Recognized milestone in the period 2020-2022, and Go-Global milestone in the period 2023 – 2025. At each milestone several targets were set. To achieve the targets, strategies are needed to achieve the targets in the form of implementing various activities. The effectiveness of the planned strategies are measured by performance indicators. The following sections describe the targets, strategies and performance indicators.

A. Targets of Education and Teaching

Targets:

  1. Recognition of graduates nationally and internationally.
  2. Become a national reference in the field of Computer Engineering.
  3. Increase recognition of the national and international community towards ITS Computer Engineering graduates.
  4. Increase percentage of ITS Computer Engineering graduates who have been successfully on work.
  5. Increase the number of international collaborations, especially for double degree programs.
  6. Increase soft skills of graduates.

Target Achievement Strategy :

  1. Develop the curriculum of ITS Computer Engineering in accordance with scientific developments and market needs.
  2. Increase the number of cooperation with institutions at home and abroad.
  3. Increase the number of double degree programs with similar study programs in universities in Europe, Japan and Korea.
  4. Open research collaborations with researchers from overseas universities.
  5. Open networks with the Computer Engineering study programs in Indonesia.
  6. Encourage students to always take part in teams in national and international championships.
  7. Increase lecturer participation in national and international scientific meetings.
  8. Increase industrial visits to open cooperation with industry both research cooperation and product manufacturing cooperation.
  9. Increase the strength of the alumni networks in the world of work to increase the opportunities for graduates to be absorbed by the market.
  10. Intensify guidance and monitoring of student learning progress.
  11. Increase the intensity of guest lectures that can motivate students.
  12. Develop activities to strengthen the soft skills of graduates.

B. Targets of Student Affairs and Graduates

Targets:

  1. 80 percent of students graduate on time.
  2. Equip graduates with competency and professional certificates.
  3. Student achievements are recognized at the national and international levels.
  4. There are graduates who become entrepreneurs.
  5. The high quality of graduates is recognized by industry, government and society.

Target Achievement Strategies:

  1. 80 percent on-time pass rate.
  2. Equip graduates with competency and professional certificates.
  3. Provide training to students in presentation and proposal preparation.
  4. Provide assistance for final assignments or college assignments that have the prospect of winning the competition.
  5. Enrolling students in the startup Business Program.

Targets :

  1. The high quantity and quality of research by lecturers and students.
  2. The high number of lecturers and student publications
  3. Lecturers and students research can answer problems in industry, government and society.
  4. Protected inventions of lecturers and students by intellectual property rights in the form of patents and copyrights.
  5. Certified and standardized laboratories

Targets Achievement Strategies :

  1. Align the research roadmap for laboratories with technological advances.
  2. Increase the frequency of scientific publication writing clinics.
  3. Inviting professors from abroad to provide scientific writing workshops.
  4. Creating patent and copyright protection for inventions made by lecturers and students.
  5. Provide funds to the lab to carry out certification and standardization.

  3. Increased community service activities carried out by lecturers and students.

Targets Achievement Strategies:

  1. Organizing visits to Industry to promote competency in study programs and potential cooperation.
  2. Cooperating with industry for internship and research opportunities.
  3. Organizing visits to government agencies.
  4. Motivating lecturers to do community service.

  1. Increase the number of lecturers with doctoral degrees
  2. Increase the number of lecturers with functional positions as professor and head lecturer.
  3. The high mastery of lecturers’ competences, especially in future technology
  4. High competency mastery of education personnel, especially those that support the main tasks and functions.

Targets Achievement Strategies:

  1. Provide opportunities and encouragement for lecturers to pursue further doctoral studies
  2. Provide motivation, assistance and guidance for lecturers who have doctoral studies
  3. Providing assistance for lecturers to manage their ranks.
  4. Increase the number of training for lecturers and education personnel.
  5. Provide rewards and incentives for lecturers who have extraordinary achievements.
  6. Provide incentives such as pocket money for tendik in participating in capacity building programs

  1. Increase the number of lectures in English
  2. Increase the number of guest lectures with speakers from abroad.
  3. Participate in the activities of the professional community at the national level, actively participate and become a resource person in these activities
  4. Encourage lecturers / researchers to be active in the Science and Technology Excellence Center (PUI) and Science Techno Park (STP) which have national, regional and international network strength
  5. Inviting a visiting professor in a WCP class program (World Class Professor)
  6. Active role in student exchange activities, education staff and lecturers / researchers in programs implemented by ITS, RistekDikti and other institutions.
