Starting from 5th of October 2018, all ITS Information Technology Department students have participated in the Basic Scientific Writing Training activities or abbreviated as PKTI-TD (in Bahasa) for 2 days until the 7th of October, 2018. This activity took place at the 4th floor UPMB Building, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology, Sukolilo Campus, Surabaya. ITS Student Executive Board (BEM ITS 2018/2019 GELORA AKSI) is the executor of this year’s Basic Level Scientific Writing Work Training.
In general, the assignments that was given to the students include making individual table names and making a Student Creativity Program based on a group that has been previously divided. Slow, but serious presentation by the inspirators made the materials easy to understood. On the first day, which falls on Friday, October 5th, 2018 precisely from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. the inspirators, the trainer in the program, introduced the Student Creativity Program (PKM) and KTI (Scientific Writing). Entering the second day, Saturday 6 October from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the inspirators introduced the systematics and formats of the PKM to the students. Then on the last day, Sunday 7 October from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., there was a presentation about how to enchance student’s presentation skills.
The purpose of the training is improving the student’s soft skills.Because in the past few years, ITS has experienced an achievement decline in the scholarship field. It is expected that student’s awareness on the importance of making a scientific writing will rise after the training. It is also expected to motivate the students to make other scientific works that can make ITS a formidable force in PIMNAS (National Student Scientific Week) again in the following years.
