MATH Outhreach – Panel Discussion on Actuarial Education

The panel discussion held in Banjarmasin on 12 December 2019 was the second session of the Actuarial Workshop for students and teachers aimed at introducing the actuary profession to them.

The discussion which presented representatives from 3 well-known tertiary institutions in Indonesia namely UGM, ITS, and UPH discussed about the study programs or actuarial specialization that exist in each campus. A variety of useful information for students including those related to entry, capacity, courses taught, actuary exam equalization programs, scholarship programs, work practices and integrated work learning programs.

The ITS representatives themselves were represented by Prof. Dr. Basuki Widodo, M.Sc and Dr. Soehardjoepri, M.Sc discusses the implementation of the Co-Operative Education Program which combines classroom learning with professional work in companies during the study period of students. Students who take part in this program will get 1 year work experience when they graduate.
