Vision and mission

The Department of Actuarial Science aspires to become a leading academic department in Asia by advancing actuarial science and its applications in Sharia-based disaster management and marine science fields. The Department is committed to driving innovation and educating graduates who are equipped to address global challenges, particularly in risk analysis for disaster management, marine science, and Sharia-based sectors.

The Department of Actuarial Science is committed to advancing knowledge and technology in actuarial science and its applications to enhance societal well-being through excellent education, research, community engagement, and governance supported by information and communication technologies.

1. Education
   • Deliver an undergraduate program supported by information and communication technologies to prepare internationally competitive graduates in actuarial science and its applications.
   • Foster graduates who uphold strong moral values, faith, and devotion to God Almighty.
   • Equip graduates with technology-driven entrepreneurial competencies.
2. Research
   • Advance actuarial science and its applications through high-quality research with international impact.
3. Community Engagement
   • Leverage the Department’s expertise and resources to address challenges faced by communities, industry, and government.
4. Governance
   • Ensure professional management of the Department’s resources in implementing Indonesia’s Tri Dharma of Higher Education through information and communication technologies.
   • Strengthen strategic partnerships with national and international universities, industry, communities, and government to support the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

To develop innovative and professional actuarial science graduates who contribute to the advancement of actuarial science through research, knowledge development, and community engagement, particularly in disaster risk, marine studies, and Sharia-based actuarial applications.

The Undergraduate Program in Actuarial Science program pursues the following objectives:

1. Develop graduates of high moral character who demonstrate excellence in actuarial science and its applications, possess professional competencies and ethical standards, uphold high integrity and responsibility, embrace lifelong learning, and are able to compete in both national and international environments.
2. Foster an inclusive and supportive academic environment that encourages an appreciation, active participation, and contribution to academic integrity and ethical values.
3. Establish the Undergraduate Program in Actuarial Science as a nationally recognized center for education, research, and community engagement actuarial science and its applications.
4. Advance high-quality actuarial research and development that contributes to addressing challenges at the national, regional, and international levels, particularly in catastrophe insurance, marine insurance, and sharia insurance.

Menghasilkan lulusan yang berbudi luhur, unggul dalam bidang aktuaria dan penerapannya, mandiri, mempunyai kemampuan profesional dan etika profesi, memiliki integritas dan tanggung jawab yang tinggi, mempunyai kemampuan untuk mengembangkan diri dan bersaing di tingkat nasional maupun internasional.
2. Menumbuhkan iklim akademik yang kondusif sehingga dapat menumbuhkan sikap apresiatif, partisipatif dan kontributif dari civitas akademika, serta menjunjung tinggi tata nilai dan moral akademik.
3. Menjadikan Program Studi Sains Aktuaria sebagai pusat pendidikan, penelitian dan pengabdian masyarakat di bidang aktuaria dan penerapannya di level nasional.
4. Menghasilkan penelitian dan pengembangan aktuaria yang berkualitas sehingga mampu berkontribusi menyelesaiakan permasalahan pada level nasional, regional dan internasional terutama dalam bidang asuransi bencana, asuransi kelautan dan asuransi syariah.
