ITS Campus, ITS News — The Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has again strengthened its international collaboration. Through the Business Management (MB) Department of the Faculty of Creative Design and Digital Business (FDKBD), ITS officially launched the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) Double Degree (DD) in partnership with the University of the West of England (UWE) Bristol, United Kingdom.
The Deputy Dean of FDKBD ITS, Muhammad Saiful Hakim, SE, MM, Ph.D., affirmed that this moment represents a strategic achievement for the MB Department of ITS. This is due to the fact that, within ITS, the MB Department is the first to have reached a total of ten DD partners. “Furthermore, UWE Bristol is our first partner (MB) from the United Kingdom,” stated Saiful.

In response to this appreciation, the Head of the MB Department of ITS, Berto Mulia Wibawa, SPi, MM, Ph.D., explained that this collaboration is part of his department’s internationalization vision. Berto emphasized that this program serves as evidence of global recognition of the quality of the MB Department’s curriculum. “This validates that our curriculum meets global standards and is equivalent to those of international institutions such as UWE Bristol,” he asserted.
Beyond the benefits for his department, Berto also elaborated on the advantages of this collaboration for faculty members. According to him, it opens opportunities for collaboration among lecturers in the form of joint research and other strategic academic programs. “We see this partnership as an initial step to strengthen collaboration at the global level,” stated the alumnus of Monash University, Australia.

The Head of International Recruitment and Student Recruitment for the Asia Pacific Region of the University of the West of England (UWE) Bristol, Kevin Dunn, delivered a speech online.
Reinforcing Berto’s statement, the Head of International Recruitment and Student Recruitment for the Asia Pacific Region of UWE Bristol, Kevin Dunn, observed an alignment of industrial potential between Surabaya and Bristol. He noted that the manufacturing, aerospace, and defence technology sectors serve as common ground for both parties. “This similarity in potential makes the collaboration between ITS and UWE Bristol highly relevant,” claimed Kevin, who delivered his remarks online.
Furthermore, Kevin stated that this collaboration provides direct benefits to students. Through the opportunity to study at both ITS and UWE Bristol, students can enhance their global competencies and gain exposure to a multicultural environment. “This is reinforced by the presence of an international student community at UWE Bristol representing 170 countries,” he added.

The Business Management Department of ITS is the first department at ITS to have up to 10 Double Degree program partners.
Unlike other IUP DD programs, the IUP DD program offered by these two institutions presents the advantage of flexible concentration choices. Students may select from five fields: Business Management, Business Management with Marketing, International Business Management, Business Management with Accounting and Finance, and Business and Human Resource Management.
With the launch of the IUP DD program in partnership with UWE Bristol, ITS further solidifies its position as a university competing on the global stage. This aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 4 on Quality Education and point 17 on Partnerships for the Goals. (Public Relation of ITS)
