ITS Campus – The Department of Instrumentation Engineering at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) proudly hosted the 2026 Global Community Outreach (GCO), an international program that brought together students and faculty members from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), and Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN). The program marked a significant step toward strengthening collaboration among higher education institutions across the ASEAN region through community engagement, cultural exchange, and cross-border experiential learning.
The program commenced with an opening ceremony attended by university leaders, faculty advisors, and participants from all four institutions. The ceremony officially marked the beginning of the 2026 GCO series, highlighting international collaboration as a means of creating meaningful societal impact while enhancing students’ global competencies.
According to Arief Abdurrakhman, Chair of the 2026 GCO Organizing Committee from the Department of Instrumentation Engineering, students worked collaboratively in various community engagement activities centered on sustainability, innovation, and community empowerment, reflecting the vision of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Through an experiential learning approach, participants not only applied the knowledge gained in the classroom but also developed a deeper understanding of community needs through direct field engagement.
In addition to community service activities, participants joined academic discussions, cultural exchange sessions, and knowledge-sharing forums, enriching their perspectives on educational practices and community development initiatives implemented in each participating country.
For the Department of Instrumentation Engineering at ITS, hosting the 2026 GCO reflects the institution’s commitment to expanding international partnerships while supporting the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
