Surabaya, ITS News — The Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) continues to provide development opportunities for its students, including in pursuing careers after completing their studies. Ahead of the graduation moment, ITS held the Industrial Gathering of the 46th ITS Career Expo (BKI) to establish cooperation with companies in order to connect graduating students with the industrial world. The event took place at the Novotel Samator Surabaya on Wednesday evening, April 15, 2026.
The Rector of ITS, Prof. Dr. (HC) Ir. Bambang Pramujati, S.T., M.Sc.Eng., Ph.D., revealed that cooperation with industrial partners is beneficial for graduates who will be engaged in the industrial realm. Therefore, it is necessary for ITS to prepare graduates who align with industry needs. One such method is through internship cooperation to enhance students’ experience and quality before they enter the industrial world. “Nevertheless, I strongly hope that ITS students can become entrepreneurs,” he added.

The Director of Academic Development and Learning Innovation at ITS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Aulia Siti Aisjah, M.T. (center), while serving as a speaker in a talk show session together with industrial partners.
During a talk show session, a Professor from the Department of Engineering Physics at ITS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Aulia Siti Aisjah, M.T., stated that ITS, as a university, implements mutually beneficial collaboration with industry. To provide competent students for industry, one approach that can be taken is to give students the opportunity to become acquainted with the real work environment. “Industrial cooperation has been implemented in the study programs at the ITS Faculty of Vocational Studies, with a credit load of 17 to 20 credits,” she explained.
As the Director of Academic Development and Learning Innovation at ITS, Aulia added that ITS is also flexible in designing its curriculum according to current developments and industry needs. Through the elective course facilities available in each study program, students are required to develop competent profiles according to their respective choices. In this manner, each student possesses a competitive advantage and remains relevant to industry requirements.

The Head of the Subdirectorate for Entrepreneurship and Career Development at ITS, Dr. Hertiari Idajati, S.T., M.Sc., while presenting material on cooperation opportunities in career development.
In alignment with Aulia, the Head of the Subdirectorate for Entrepreneurship and Career Development at ITS, Dr. Hertiari Idajati, S.T., M.Sc., stated that ITS is currently targeting to become an entrepreneurial university by the year 2030. One of the steps that ITS has taken to achieve this target is the provision of the ITS Job Portal platform.
Consequently, the timeframe for students to secure employment after graduation is expected to become shorter. “Additionally, the ITS Career Expo (BKI) is also held regularly twice a year,” added the lecturer from the Department of Regional and Urban Planning (PWK) at ITS, who is familiarly known as Ida.

This activity aligns with the support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly point 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth and point 17 on Partnerships for the Goals. The meeting between company executives and ITS as a cooperation partner serves as a collaborative forum to fulfill the needs of both parties in order to obtain superior workers and desired employment.
