Strengthening global academic leadership through the 2025 EQUITY Adjunct Professor Program. This strategic initiative integrates forty world-class scholars into diverse research ecosystems including Chemistry, Marine Technology, and Biomedical Engineering to foster high impact international synergies.

ITS Surabaya – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has strategically expanded its international academic network by appointing forty distinguished scholars to the 2025 Adjunct Professor Program, a flagship initiative under the Enhancing Quality Education for International University Impacts and Recognition (EQUITY) framework. This program serves as a critical catalyst for institutional transformation, aiming to integrate world-class expertise into the university’s research and pedagogical ecosystems to address complex global challenges. By fostering high-impact trans-border collaborations, the university reinforces its commitment to global academic standards, specifically targeting the advancement of quality education, industry innovation, and international partnerships.

The program involves extensive contributions from a diverse range of departments, including Chemistry, Biology, Statistics, Chemical Engineering, Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, and Environmental Engineering. Other participating units include Geomatics Engineering, Geophysical Engineering, Urban and Regional Planning, Informatics, Information Systems, Biomedical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Business Management, and Product Design. Furthermore, contributions are provided by Civil Infrastructure Engineering, Industrial Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Chemical Engineering, Automation Electrical Engineering, Business Statistics, Medical Technology, and Medicine.

These collaborations focus on crucial sectors such as advanced membrane technology, sustainable chemistry, and biomedical engineering, alongside economic domains like digital business and urban planning. The geographical and disciplinary diversity of the appointed professors ensures that the university’s academic output is informed by a global perspective, facilitating the transfer of specialized knowledge from various nations. The integration of these international experts into technical and scientific departments is designed to elevate institutional recognition while producing interdisciplinary solutions that resonate with global sustainability standards.

To ensure the effective implementation of these international synergies, the program is supported by the World Class University (WCU) funding mechanism as directed by Rector Bambang Pramujati. Administrative alignment involving the Vice Rector for Human Resources, Deans, and Department Heads aims to optimize the integration of adjunct professors into the university’s core missions of research and community service. By allocating dedicated resources through the EQUITY WCU fund, the university targets increased scholarly impact through joint publications and the development of innovative technical solutions.
