ITS has strengthened its global standing through a series of strategic engagements in Singapore and Batam, uniting alumni, industry leaders, and international partners to advance its 2021–2045 World Class University vision and foster impactful collaborations in innovation, talent development, and global competitiveness

In pursuit of its 2021–2045 World Class University (WCU) vision, the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) has taken a significant step toward enhancing its international reputation through a series of strategic engagements held in Singapore and Batam on October 25–26, 2025. The events, titled Alumni Synergy for ITS Towards a World Class University and Building Strategic Partnerships for Innovation and Global Impact, marked a pivotal moment in ITS’s global outreach efforts.

The activities were spearheaded by ITS Rector Prof. Bambang Pramujati and Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Alumni Dr. Imam Baihaqi, and brought together a dynamic network of ITS alumni currently contributing to diverse industrial and academic sectors across global. Their participation underscored the strategic importance of alumni engagement in elevating ITS’s global profile and advancing its institutional mission.

The Batam session focused on strengthening ties with local industries, enhancing career development services, and promoting technology-driven entrepreneurship. Dr. Imam Baihaqi emphasized Batam’s strategic potential in accelerating student career pathways and fostering innovation. A key highlight was a collaborative meeting with Singapore Management University (SMU), where discussions centered on developing frameworks for talent pool programs, entrepreneurship initiatives, and structured internship opportunities. “Strategic partnerships with esteemed institutions like SMU serve as catalysts for enriching the academic and professional experiences of ITS students and graduates, directly impacting our employability metrics,” Dr. Imam noted.

Further enriching the program, Dr. Arief Abdurrakhman, Coordinator of Learning Experience and Employer Reputation for the WCU initiative, delivered a comprehensive presentation titled Gotong Royong for an Impactful and Globally Reputable ITS. He outlined strategic approaches to enhance two critical indicators in the QS World University Rankings: Employer Reputation (ER) and Employment Outcomes (EO). “Our collaborative efforts with universities, industries, and alumni are tangible manifestations of ITS’s commitment to cultivating globally competitive talent,” Dr. Arief explained.

As part of the operational follow-up, Dr. Hertiari Idajati, Head of the Sub-Directorate for Entrepreneurship and Career Development, introduced a suite of integrated services offered by the ITS Career Center. These include competency development, career coaching, and mentoring programs involving alumni and industry partners, designed to ensure graduates are not only job-ready but also equipped for accelerated career progression.

The strategic synergy was further reinforced through engagements with the Singapore Global Network—under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore—and Kinobi Technology. These interactions opened new avenues for collaboration and contributed to the development of a robust ecosystem aimed at producing globally recognized graduates.

Through these initiatives, ITS continues to demonstrate its commitment to internationalization, innovation, and excellence, positioning itself as a leading institution on the global academic stage.
