WASTEWATER TREATMENT INSTALLATION

WASTEWATER TREATMENT INSTALLATION

The Department of Environmental Engineering has an integrated Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) unit that functions to treat waste from activities within the Department of Environmental Engineering. This WWTP features an Equalization Tank, Aerobic Biofilter, Clarifier, Effluent Holding Tank, Filtration, Disinfection, and Indicator Pond units, and is equipped with sludge treatment in the form of a Sludge Drying Bed. Beyond serving as a treatment unit, this WWTP functions as a tangible representation of waste management and a real-world application of environmental engineering science, which also serves as a facility and infrastructure for students to further their learning.
